    Guys, I am still making these cables. 4AWG is the size I have in stock, but if you need a smaller cable, I can also make that happen.
    I've made instructions on how to get a measurement on the cables that you need.

      imo, lead off the battery should be as short as possible before the safety brake, fuse/breaker. yours is about twice as long as it could be. i would also position the circuit breaker closer to the battery than the relay as well.
      if you want to make one 4 awg wire longer it should be after the fuse/breaker.
      nice set up clean install.

    Ordered a set of cables from Artemio (FiveFoot). They came out amazing! His communication was awesome through the whole process. I would recommend ordering from him to anyone who is looking to do an auxiliary fuse panel set up. His prices are very reasonable and he makes a high quality product. The workmanship is first class. The heat shrinks are done well and the mesh on the wires is great for protecting them.

    Very informative..question. I have 3 sets of leds going to the sea block. However I need to hook up a rocker switch to turn all of them together...A) would I hook the rocker switch to the relay then from the relay to the sea box ? Or B ) Relay to the batter + and then from the relay to the breaker and breaker to the sea block ? I have the same set up but trying to figure out the rocker switch inside the car. Would you be able to pdf a diagram ? Thanks.

    • @temosgarage
      @temosgarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching and so sorry for the late reply.
      Each negative cable gets connected on the left side of the fuse block in my video. You'll see that the Blue Sea fuse box has two large cables connecting to it, a red and black. Next to the large black cable are 4 or 6 spots to hook up a negative wire. Hope I didn't confuse you.

  • @williamreynolds8210
    @williamreynolds8210 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice work! I would be a little concerned about the fuse block Negative terminal being 1/4" away from the output of the 50A Circuit Breaker. If a cable was to work loose on the terminal... Nicely organized. I want to put a 6 fuse, 6 relay box next to the Fuse box (I have a 2010 Tacoma) but room is a premium.

    • @temosgarage
      @temosgarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I understand your concern. The cables are crimped nicely and there is no way they will come off the lug without a hard pull on them.

    Best video I have seen so far ! I want to install a system like this on my Can am X3 to power all my accessories. Question : Would it be best to have one relay like you mention in the end of the video or have individual relays for each accessory I add ??

    • @temosgarage
      @temosgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you!
      It depends on how big of a power draw the device will be. For example, the fan draws a bunch of amps and a relay is needed to control that much power, same with the headlights (custom rejector setup)
      Then there’s the underhood LED lights, they draw very little power, believe in milliVolts, so pointless to put a relay just for this.
      Hope that made sense.

    • @temosgarage
      @temosgarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late replay!
      This relay you're talking about, is it to turn on/off the fuse block when the truck is on/off?
      Depending on the model and year you have, you can look up on Google Tacoma Anytime Fog Mod. Follow any of those instructions to tap to a 12v signal for your relay.

    Very clean, nice work. The only thing that makes me nervous is how close the + lead leaving the breaker is to the - leaving the fuse box. That’s way too close for comfort. One misplaced ring finger or screw driver, you’ll give that circuit breaker a good test.

    Why did you choose a 50 amp breaker and not higher or lower?

  • @NeilKudro
    @NeilKudro 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How do you connect aux to the box? What did you do with the negative wire from LED light? For example, an LED light has both positive and negative wires, the positive goes to the fuse ba, but where do you install the negative wire from the LEd light?

    • @temosgarage
      @temosgarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I drilled 4 small holes and used small bolts and nuts to secure the aux box to the factory plastic fuse cover.
      The underhood LEDs, were grounded by the engine hood, but decided to make sure they were grounded good so I ran a black cable from the LEDs to the fuse box. All of the negative/ground connections on the BlueSea fuse box is found on the left to the positives. Right under where you open the BlueSea fuse box cover.

  • @frozentwiddlelump
    @frozentwiddlelump 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for this video, it's the best explanation I've seen on hooking up one of these Blue Sea circuit boxes. Question for you - you installed a 50 amp breaker, but I've seen other (less clear) videos where they've installed a 100 amp inline fuse or even a 300 amp inline fuse. I do like the idea of the breaker since you can manually "shut off" power to the circuit box, but I'm wondering how I'd figure out if I should go with a 50 A, 100 A or higher breaker. Is there any downside to just going with a larger one? (I have the 12 terminal circuit box - 6 constant power / 6 keyed power).

    • @temosgarage
      @temosgarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey man, thanks for watching and glad my video helped you. What I did to decide what amperage breaker to use was to add up all of the accessories' amperage I planned on using then bought the closest amperage circuit breaker available. I am using about 20-30 amps at most, so a 50 amp breaker was the best for me. There's been few times where I've approached the 50 amp limit on the breaker. The way I see it, if Im only going to use 40 amps total at once, there is no reason to get a 100 amp for security reasons. It is safer to trip the circuit breaker at 50 amps vs 100 amps and save your truck. There is no downside on going with a larger amperage circuit breaker compared to what I am using as long as you will need it, just keep safety in mind and if a bigger breaker is truly needed. Hope this answered your questions :)

      You can do the math of how much power you’re trying to put out if you have 4 light bars maybe thats 2000 watts all together. You divide the watts to the volts your battery runs. Most people’s suv battery has 13.8 so divide 2000 by 13.8 and you get 144 and you need a 150 amp.. well thats what I think

      Fuse box: are you talking the factory fuse box I drilled and mounted the kit? You can make it waterproof by putting silicone when mounting your kit.

    So tidy, you installed it like it came from the factory.

      Dio Jodianto thanks! It does look clean and nice looking. Been working fine since the video/install. I’ve now hooked up a 300W amplifier to this fuse box too. Haven’t tripped the breaker yet.
