Yeah it’s “just a video game” A video game that I invested my free time in to become immersed into a fictional world where I could do as I pleased or feel like a part of something greater.
This hit me my guy. What you said is very true. And when us gamers get emotional or upset for what happened in the story line of a game doesn't mean we are raging just to rage or crying just to cry. It's an emotional connection between characters and it feels like we really lost someone.
I feel that, the real world is so scary and big, sometimes you can't do anything but to just sit there and do nothing because you can't do anything about it It's no longer Quake, Doom, Wolfenstein 3D or anything like that anymore, it's a story to be witnessed

fortnite's overhated if i'm going to be honest it definitely isn't the best game out there, but it isn't the scourge on mankind that people act like it is
(SPOILERS) For me, the story of Red Dead 2 is probably the most impactful piece of fiction ive experienced yet. It taught me that is never too late to do the right thing, no matter how difficult or strenuous. Arthur also reminds me a lot of my own dad, so when he finally passed away at the end, it made me feel like i had just lost someone who i held very close to my heart. Roger Clark did a great job as Arthur, and i believe he made the most memorable and human character in fiction in a long time.
Hard disagree on that. I met lots of old people who got it, and lots of old people who didn't. Likewise, I met lots of young people who saw video games as a waste of time (while ironically spending all day browsing tiktok videos) and lots of young people who saw video games as something more. It depends on the individual, not the age.
Let's take a moment to honour all the video game developers who work for hours and hours to put forth these masterpieces for us. These developers are often exploited by the game studios and are underpaid for their work.
i actually cry cause i missed out on this peice of gaming culture as a kid because i wasnt allowed to play violent games but i deeply long to know there story
Detroit Become Human is definitely overrated although it's still an amazing game, much better than 80% of crap that's out there. Connor's storyline easily carries the whole game and his relationship with Hank is the best part of the game.
@Aidan Bramwell Lt. Joseph Turner. It is a game, but I felt like I knew him so well. It is from Call of Duty WWII, and it is mentioned a few times before a tragedy
It's more than a game, any game where you feel the pain, love, or any emotion is much more than a game it's more similar to "a man who reads a thousand books lives a thousand lives" Edit: so 239 likes that's alot, (bit too much if ya ask me) thanks! Edit: thanks for the likes, most I've ever got
Living yourself entirely as the playable character Soap in COD MW1.... Do you think anything in the plethora of digital entertainment would hit that hard, as we see Soap (ourselves) Die in COD MW3???? Nothing absolutely Nothing!!!!!

One of my personal favorites has to be the mass effect series. So many iconic characters and unique stories clashing together to create this star wars star trek type Mashup its still amazing and holds up well to this day
Video games are like interactive movies, which can actually make the characters we play as feel like an extension of ourselves. That’s why when betrayal, happiness, sadness, anger, and loneliness happens to them, it can happen to us too. Thank you for attending my Ted Talk
"--We had created monsters we couldn't control. We drugged them, tortured them, eviscerated them... we brutalized their minds, but it did not work. Until they came. And it was not their force of will, not their Void devilry, not their alien darkness... it was something else. It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly broken thing...and take away its pain." - Ballas-
Video games taught me that - All we have to do was to follow a damn train. Mutants never knock the door. Swapping weapon is faster than reloading. And at last''this action will cause consequences''
and including online games the times where we laughed so hard with friends stayed up hours past midnight laughing and playing and sometimes getting angry those are the best times
As someone who immerses myself deeply in any game i play and i’ve played games since my childhood, this is a true blessing to gamers like me, everyone in my family makes a big bad deal out of how much video games mean to me, and that’s the sad truth about non-gamers They don’t truly understand the beauty of video games and the pictures they try to paint, even video games that seem like mindless fun are great to immerse yourself in, a video game you enjoy isn’t just an experience, it is a part of you
"We play *violent* video games because we know *it's fake* . Compared to the *violence in reality* , its *comforting* to accomplish those games because there, the violence can *end* ..." - Gamers
nah that's just cap. I'm not finishing a game so "the violence can end" lmfao. it's just fun, and doesn't hurt anyone. im not finishing an AC game and then going "thank god the violence ended" nah fuck that I'm adding 500 more mfs to the kill count.
I tried to get my girl to understand that and she couldnt and it genuinely confused me. Imagine spending the majority of every week inside a different world, immersed with its characters and then 5 years later, you get one of the people you're closest to just ripped away. Watching TV and movies can only do so much, being a part of the world for 7 years is something a lot more emotional. I still hate Uldren and Crow wearing his face makes me hate him too.
@@radutheodor758 only ever played D2 and not even for long but when that part came on I sobbed ugly tears, my brother who has been playing games all his life didn't feel too bothered about it... makes me wonder why he plays all these games if they don't even touch him...
ah yes, those golden time, the time when game industry were growing up and havent got correupted, the time the legend born,it might be a memory but it will continue to live on forever
their is one thing in common with every great video game. It has an amazing story, and you get so attached to the characters that you cry when one of them dies.
I mean the statement it self isn’t wrong, it is just a video game at the end of the day. However, the emotional attachment and relationships we experience and create from video games is what many cannot comprehend
But saying it with "just" seems like preventing us from feeling any emotional attachment & having relationship through them..so, that's why it's not just a game
"it's just a video game" I like to see you hold back your tears of your best friend's death, anger of your villianous betrayer, joy of saving your life and your close ones, fear of failing your entire destiny, and excitement of going above what you can do without flaws You can't say it's just a game when you haven't seen the greatness of it yourself
They say its just a game and their right, its just a game that takes you on a ride of emotions of love and hate for the characters of a story that you can interact with

For me, the story of Red Dead 2 is probably the most impactful piece of fiction ive experienced yet. It taught me that is never too late to do the right thing, no matter how difficult or strenuous. Arthur also reminds me a lot of my own dad, so when he finally passed away at the end, it made me feel like i had just lost someone who i held very close to my heart. Roger Clark did a great job as Arthur, and i believe he made the most memorable and human character in fiction in a long time.
couldn't agree more
i cried whenever someone mentioned arthur for a literal week bro that shit was saddddd i still get a bit sad watching his death scene 3 years later
Yeah idk how RDR2 is not included in the video
thanks for reminding me to play r2r.. bought it a while ago but never really played it.

Hard disagree on that. I met lots of old people who got it, and lots of old people who didn't. Detroit Become Human is definitely overrated although it's still an amazing game, much better than 80% of crap that's out there. Connor's storyline easily carries the whole game and his relationship with Hank is the best part of the game.
