been looking forward to this game for so long, it looks very promising. It's cool that it has an animal crossing vibe, but I'm so happy they didn't tie it to real time. real time in these games, make them feel like a job to me. If I've done a bunch of stuff in the game, I'd like to just progress, rather than wait an entire real world day.
same, animal crossing was SO fun in quarantine… but just during quarantine. life gets busy sometimes, can’t just play all day every day at every tjmr
@@paulinaaaaaaaa what makes it worse, is that if you want to collect all the stuff eg fish. You need to play between certain times of the day. Maybe this is good for a kid, but an adult? It's nigh impossible with jobs etc...
I see no benefit the game gains from that feature.

I usually hate Australian themed things cause it's always overly stereotyped... but this was still cute! I will say though the sun setting that early was super unrealistic for an Australian summer
True, In the summer it doesn't get dark until 8pm onwards. It's the winter where it's dark by like 5:30pm (at least in my case where I live its dark around those times)

I don't know how to feel about it quite now. It looks promising and I like the setting, but then again the setting is the only unique thing about it, everything else seems taken from other, successful games. The heart of games like these is the characters and the story, so I guess we will have to see how unique and catching it is.

Otherwise it would be just the next crafting and farming game trying to hop on the success that stardew valley had. stardew valley has a simple yet beautiful story around pelican town. My Time At Portia/Sandrock works with its post apocalyptic setting unearthing secrets from the old days. Harvest Moon always had characters with a story to unlock if you got to know them better. I don't mean "story" in the way of linear gameplay. I guess the word I am looking for is lore. Sorry if I wasn't clear.
Even the other successful games borrow features from other successful games (I love Stardew Valley, its one of the best farming sims out there but its far from "unique" when it comes to game mechanics). The developer said he wants to continue working on the story and the characters (keep in mind though, its one person working on this game so it wont be overnight). I think it deserves a chance because it's honestly amazing considering it's from one indie developer (as was Stardew when it was first released).
I would love to watch more of this as a series! It's a cute game and I just love watching your videos. Also congrats on the recent announcement, Sharky!

@@ColourShyft I used to get swooped as a kid in the 70s. I lived in the country in Queensland and there were magpies every year either near our house or on the way to school or in the playground. We'd find out about them when some kid came running and screaming with a bird chasing them - more than once that was me! And word would spread fast to stay away from that little area for a while. It is terrifying for kids. We weren't scared of snakes, and we had very poisonous ones - brown snakes, swamp tigers. We were scared of magpies, though! 🤣🤣
