    I paused just a minute into the video to tell you, from a dad's perspective, how much it means to him to spend this time together. He might not say it in words, but he feels immense gratitude.

      Yeah when I started riding bikes I definitely never thought I'd buy a brand new motorcycle, mod the heck out of it, and then sell it to my dad haha. Pretty cool and even cooler we get to ride together so much!

    So good to see father son ride. I ride alone Wish my dad rode. Anyways. I have a 2018 gen 2 KLR. Mine came with a staintune pipe. makes it sound pretty beefy. If you're looking at keeping the KLR and you miss a grunty sound it's a great option.

    Just curious where are you riding? I live in neenah and a long time ago went to high school in Clintonville (1980) I am considering starting adventure riding at 61 and just looking for some adventurous roads. Awsome vid.

      This was some county land north of Wausau. If you download the Polaris app and turn on the land data it'll show you all the county land as well as the ATV trails. Some counties like Lincoln and Langlade will actually let you ride on there trails, but others like Oneida will not. Likewise some counties will let you operate a motor vehicle on their logging roads and woods trails year round, where others will not. Most of that info can be found on the county websites.

    Do you regret selling the T7? I had a T7 and sold it to a buddy. Contemplating buying another or a Gen 3 KLR. Do you think one has the advantage over the other?

    • @SwankyCatProductions
      @SwankyCatProductions  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I do, I think if I'd have ridden it again I probably wouldn't have been able to let it go haha. The KLR is definitely not the same. It has a very noticeable lack of power and torque in comparison, the suspension is way softer and not having the anti squat rear isn't nearly as much fun off road. All that being said, I really like my gen3 and as long as you have the right audited it's an awesome bike. It feels a lot less top heavy too and I want to say it doesn't stall quite as easy either.

  • @markjacobs3956
    @markjacobs3956 ปีที่แล้ว

    Could you possibly clarify which tiger you are talking about? I own a 900 rally Pro and I've had two friends ditch their t7s for them

    • @SwankyCatProductions
      @SwankyCatProductions  ปีที่แล้ว

      13 Tiger 800 XC. The sport bike-ish rake on the forks makes it feel heavy and wares you out faster than the Tenere or KLR. We did quite a few bike swaps on different terrain over the years.

    • @markjacobs3956
      @markjacobs3956 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SwankyCatProductions Totally different bike than my RP. 800s are road oriented. T7 is only 7lbs Iighter but still heavier to pick up than my 900. I do like my quick shifter, tubeless spoked wheels, cruise control, heated seats and grips...

  • @I_am_Thursday
    @I_am_Thursday ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @0:32 is my problem with the whole Adv bike genre. Those tyres are needed off road, and on a CRF250L not so bad on road. But on a 200kg+ bike it's gonna be dogshit on the main roads. I should maybe quantify this by saying in the UK where its 70/30 at best and a lot of roadwork between the offroad sections.

  • @Desert2snowoffwego
    @Desert2snowoffwego ปีที่แล้ว

    Well it seems we both have evolved along similar paths--KLR 2nd gen》Tenere 700 (fantastic machine) 》 KTM 690 Enduro R (weight reduction to power ratio--super machine). Difference--they're all still in the stable-- ready for Adventure at a moment's notice.
