For me (and a lot of other crocheters) you mentioned in #3 about getting better at sewing. I think a lot of us just hate sewing/assembling so that may be a reason why Thank you for the wonderdul tips thought! I never thought about using a bigger hook for a cone head or using sticks to hold in pieces
Thanks for sharing your knowledge! I just started crocheting plushies recently and want to make sure a project that's very close to my heart turns out nicely. 🌻 Now I also know where to turn to if I encounter any of these issues in the process.☺ Also: the unfinished crochet moose you showed us for the sticks tipp is so cute!! I think the huge eyes really are the perfect choice for your projects.
Thank you for the tips I made my first jellyfish today I didn't like the smile I made on it and I have six tentacles and some are in the front not supposed to be while others are to far apart
Great tips. lol I tried both and both work very well. (The cone head tip) haven’t tried the sticks yet but sound like a great idea. Will definitely give them a try on the next one
Really good tips, thank you. Ive been crocheting forever, since I was a kid, but not toys. I want to do some minis for keytags as I don't know a lot of little people anymore. But I do know a lot of adults that are kids at heart. Ty again.
I am confused about putting your yarn joins at the back of the project. Your joins should be seemless. There are several youtube tutorials for this, especially if selling items you want an even edge of color. Sizing down for chenille yarn is a must, but increasing tension with a 2 size hook.decrrase will keep everything in perfect shape and also eliminate a cone shape
I’m 63, been crocheting since about 5. (In NY). Thank you for your ideas. Love your plushies. Hope you got my email & pattern on the pig. Have a blessed day.
Here’s a shop that sells them, but there’s many on the website! m.aliexpress.com/store/128592?trace=store2mobilestoreNew&spm=a2g0n.order_list.order_list_main.8.18751802owdFW6

Do you have any tips for embroidered eyes? I understand safety eyes are not suitable for very young children and it’s recommended to embroider them.

Thanks for all the great tips. I never thought to use sticks to hold the head in place. I just use a long 2"or 3" pin. I'll have to try the stick tip.

You can search “30 mm safety eyes” or something along those lines and you should get lots of search results!
