@@JP-jg3sx It's the same as painting cars for any PC game. Plenty of tutorials on painting cars, but be sure to grab the templates from our discord

If and when a 2024 pack gets released, this is gonna be an amazing way to hold over until iRacing releases their NASCAR game next year.
Just a matter of getting a couple of painters involved. I can handle the stat stuff in excel (granted the season isn't near over yet for that to be fully accurate)
@@AJFails Still, you can just have it like it's the beginning of the season and have the stats updates to 2023.
Ya I'm sure we can finagle something that makes sense and includes the rookies with some accuracy based on the season so far.

@@jj9487 I feel you on that one. I'm an ok painter but slower than most good ones and I'd rather focus my time on more modding things. I have a couple bugs to fix with this stuff, but it's mostly just rival/ally textures both on track drafting and off track after the race.

The Player Tutorial for the mod tool is the primary one you need.
The individual season packs are separate from the Mod tool itself, you'll need to download the tool and at least 1 pack, then put the NT04Data folder from the pack download in the same location as the mod tool itself.
I plan on making a new/final full use/install tutorial once I consider the mod tool complete.
i hope that a full on busch series mod comes out for Nascar Thunder 2004! it will make everything all the more realistic.

Yes absolutely.
The calc sheet and the roster sheet there are values related to how CTRL stat is calculated. Lower ctrl = more mayhem
Hey quick question when I go to race now the textures won’t go to specific driver. For example Kenseth car will be under Tony Stewart. Is there something I missed in the video? Thank you so much for the mod btw keep up the good work!
Sounds like the .pnach cheat file you made didn't work. Redo those steps but make sure you change the extension. I didn't quite show how to make one from scratch because I thought the emulator did, but it doesn't.
It should just be a .txt file but you have to change the extension to .pnach as well. Then copy from excel like the video shows

So I remade the .pnach file and when I get to the game it still shows Jeff Gordon car under Robby Gordon and such. It says that all the cheats are in the game but it doesn’t put the cars and their respective places I downloaded the 2004 textures. I’m not really the person to do career mode. I’m more of a race now guy.

I'm guessing, based on what you said, you are using excel in browser which has a row limit of 5000 and there are 18000+ rows of potential cheats.
The 04 pack has like 6kish cheats when its working
Have you thought about getting your custom code merged with the main build of PCSX2?
I would except the code is likely to mess up texture exporting/importing for other games where it functions properly now.
I'd have to add a case where it checks for NT04 specifically in multiple places in code, and it's kind of a hack/workaround rather than a 'proper' solution. But it works enough to play it
@@AJFails well knowing the EA Sports Nascar games use this unique texture code, this is a good start for someone to properly implement this into the main build. You do have the source code forked for this, correct?

This code would likely need tweaking for each nascar title separately though.

Yet ik that messy implementation of the code wouldn’t be accepted into the main build, hence why it’s important to fork the main code to work on.
just a small bug i noticed with the 2004 pack mark martins schemes are on the chevy body
Thanks, you can easily change this on the DATA sheet in excel on your own copy as well so you know
@@AJFails gotcha, another thing i noticed is i dont own excel so i use google spreadsheet and when i use that in game the cars run the same alternate scheme every race if that makes sense. not sure if theres a work around
@@AJFails also depending on the program i use it also wont let me change the lap distance all the event laps show up as "###" in the spreadsheet
@@MIke_Wazowski99 Until the new non-excel tool is finished (maybe 2 weeks) use the chrome extension "office editing" and the chrome files. You have to copy columns A-F one at a time to the pnach though and the dropdowns don't work. So it's a bit of a pain for now
@@AJFails gotcha thank you all good I found a work around that I'm using ATM I basically combined the files from one program to the other so it's working as intended now. This is so awesome cuz I grew up playing this game
How easy would this be on Nascar06? Would love to do it on that game with all the series and team mechanics
Probably more difficult than 04 was, but not impossible
someone made some texture packs for the gamecube version of nascar 05, but a lot of textures and stuff are sort of tied together between series, so its rather funky

awesome mod man, im just having issues with loading the 04 cars into the game. After moving the 04 cars into the replacements folder, like directed, my game shows the font for the new car roster on the right, but keeps the old 03 cars and their correct corresponding name from the original game. What am I doing wrong? I have the load texture stuff enabled. I'm kind of a newbie to this sort of stuff and figuring this out has been difficult.
Textures are only part of the piece needed. You have to create the cheat file mentioned and import the cheats from excel as explained in the video.

When I go to documents then textures there is no slus folder and if I create them it doesn't help
Check your PCSX2 settings to see where your Folders are mapped. It usually maps them there, but not always.

Thanks for this game content. I'm a little frustrated however it seems that I am unable to get your game up and running consistently The. I s o game will not show up in the game folder. However when I run the emulator The game will show up? I followed your instructions regarding the texture pack installation. I am uncertain that it's working within the game? If you can provide some help it would make an old fart like me very appreciative.

I don't provide the iso so I'm not sure what's up there, but the texture pack and roster updates should be really noticeable if they're working.

Test Drive EoD was SO good. I replayed that career so many times.
05 dolphin works so imo id skip over it on pcsx2

Still have my ps2 disc and love it on PC with the emulator.
Xbox has better graphics but PS2 has better sound
@MrMosebysLobby That's fine but that pack doesn't come with adjusted ratings down the specific race if you want and we are adding more seasons as we go. So career mode can be a changing roster as you play through.
I played through it many many times and did challenge runs etc.
I do wish the "realistic physics" cheat worked in the career mode though
Does this work in Season Mode and Race Now?
Yes. Though you may want to select something other than Yr1 in the dropdown on the roster sheet. They are likely too easy at that setting for season/race now
Does the excel spread sheet work in the web version
No it does not. But the chrome plugin/extension "Office Editing" does work with the "- Chrome" versions of the included sheets.
They are a little more of a pain (no dropdowns, and you have to copy 6 columns to the .pnach separately), but it works.
That said in a couple weeks a new tool will be out that doesn't require any Excel.

That's the emulator sometimes. I believe it's usually graphics card related, but you can try messing with different graphics settings to see if any other combos help

No. This is using an emulator on PC that is a custom build as well to make the texture swapping work for PCSX2
What about nascar 07
Eventually maybe if enough support comes in. Many people want 05, 06, 07, 08, and 09. I've had requests for each of those by multiple people already and I haven't finished 04 (the best one, sorry not sorry) yet
The pnatch doesnt work and doesnt show up under cheats
And the textures don't show up
@jimmymyers the pnach only seems to work if you use excel itself not an excel alternative.
the textures should work np if you follow the steps in the video. Just put them in the replacements folder for the game and make sure load textures is checked in pcsx2
