I don’t know why, but I love watching you make beautiful bouquets It is what inspired me to plant cut flowers vs more landscape flowers. I bought two raised beds and want more. I just got my Flower Hill Farm Tee shirt in the mail and I want to say THANK YOU! It IS the perfect shade of Orange and I am just adoring it so very much. I am personally giving up my dahlias because I spend a lot of money on the tubers, grow them up in 6 inch pots and then plant them in my raised bed. But the deer have been feasting on them and so I have very few blooms. They took Forever to bloom this year. I'm just done ordering them. I save the tubers and plant them next years but the deer have really done a huge # on my garden and I am more upset about my Hydrangeas than anything else. I planted 10 stunning Proven Winners Let Dance series and they were STUNNING. I'll cut them back this fall and hope that next year they are yet again a show stopper. This is what happens when you live in the country and your neighbor was only able to harvest 2 does off your land the year before. Glad he was able to harvest those.

I live in a small town but we struggle with a lot of deer pressure too. I don't grow anything that they will nibble unless it is in a solidly deer-proof fence. : /

These past few videos have made me so happy! I love seeing your gorgeous flowers. My tiny cut flower patch hasn’t done so well this year. I do have some beautiful Sahara rudbeckia but they’re kinda short, riddled with spittle bugs and have become a hotel for tiny bees who like sleeping in their petals. So I haven’t made too many bouquets for myself. And after seeing the hummingbird hovering over the zinnias and glads, I can’t bring myself to cut them either.

So good to see you on the porch! Flowers are gorgeous as always. None of the glads bloomed that I ordered from the special buy....any thoughts? They came up fine..planted in succession. We got timely rain up until end of Aug. I then hosed them down once/wk. Did get hot for a couple of wks. Planted about 3/4 in deep trench cheek to cheek. They still look like they just dried up for some reason. Was counting on late flowers for market...oh well.. I so enjoy watching how far you've come. Don't forget to breathe once in awhile!! Enjoy watching the bouquet assembly any way you do it!

I don't use quick dip. I allow my dahlias to fully bloom, then dunk the stems in hot water for about 15-30 seconds. They keep for a few more days than if I don't do that. I've never tried using this method on them if they're not completely open... Do they still keep opening?

I subscribe and enjoy your vlogs immensely. This is the first time I’ve ever asked a question and I have two? First, at the greenhouse will you increase your shrubs, trees and perennial availability to keep it open longer? Secondly, in this vlog I noticed the traffic noise, are you by a highway and if so would you ever plant a tree line to buffer the noise ? Thanks so much and I admire your tremendous work ethic.
