Tank encyclopedia I love you! Thank you! Another episode on my favorite tank thank you thank you! We’re on to the major production models. I hope you’ll cover the underwater variants of the models with the snorkel like the 3 Ausf G with snorkel
Excellent video. I suppose historical records are unclear on specific numbers of specific variants since they were fighting a war; they had about enough time to count Our Tanks and Their Tanks. The armour enthusiasts didn't start demanding details until after the shooting was over.
Don‘t know whether to laugh or cry about hundreds of “Ausf. [dramatic pause] D“. Ausf. is an abbreviation for Ausführung (with u umlaut), meaning model. If this is too difficult to pronounce, just say “Panzer III D“, which is the common designation.
Meanwhile Krupp? went with one type of suspension for the Panzer 4 from the start to the end. They could also ditch Panzer 3 chassis and use the one of Panzer 4 with a turret using the 37/50mm guns for antitank purposes.
Ngl. I, too, can't understand why they designed and produced two different vehicles (tanks). I can only think that they did it as a way to study more about tank design methods.
Most tanks of that period had pathetic armour protection, suitable only to stop machinegun fire, and maybe some autocannon caliber threats. Exceptions were some French tanks and Soviet prototypes, which would lead to T-34 and KV-1 in the future.
This is amazing. Id love a rationalization for the uneccesary additional design work of, well, almost all tanks :D. To me the Tiger and KV 1 seem to have the least unnneccesary "work"
@@markopantelic3088 Ah, thank you. I watched your video about the Ausf.A to get this information, because that's the obvious place for it. But I found absolutely nothing about internal communications inside the tank. And there was very little about the radio - just its name. I did find a few errors in the narration, so I left a comment.
I don't think any of this historical footage is real... none of the panzers are ramming each other, firing their MGs at nothing and no one fired their main gun into the sky.
And these are supposed to be the super weapons hitler tried to conquer the world with. Germany was nowhere near being ready for war in 1939, this right here is the perfect example.
Saying "Ausf." has entered the vernacular for most tank related channels and experts in the English language, including but not limited to Bovington, the Chieftain, etc. We will continue using it, as alternatives, namely translating to English (which is not used for any other German AFV word) or using the full German name (we don't hate our narrators enough to torment them with that) are inferior in our opinion.

Ausf. is only an abbreviation of Ausführung. Nobody would say Ausf. in German we just say Ausführung. Ausf. Sounds totall odd.
@@MrSpirit99 We tend to Panzer 3 D or Pz 4 H or so on but yeah we dont say Ausf. shortened.

I'm just saying, if you ever complain about a product being poor quality again. Know that you advocated for Raid Shadowlands.
@@MrSpirit99 Yeah I am more about in the "Umgangssprache" common language.
Great beginning for tanks. Set a good standard for the time it was built.
this blows away my preconceived notion that all mk3s had 6 road wheels per side
Mine as well

Artificial stupidity thinks it's the end of the sentence...
You could also say Mark III D.
Or Panzer III Mark capital D.
This was a tank
One of the tanks of all time
Out of all the other tanks in history, this is one of them
Really? I always thought it was a truck.
It’s obviously a Tractor
I thought it was a Donkey 🤔

the panzerkamftwagen III was a cute little buggar
funny all the misconceptions about them
Great video!
Excellent series of videos. Thank you.
Mighty thin armor. Was the III considered decently armored for the time??

The Panzer III was chronically unreliable until the J model.
Pls make video about Arsenal Crossley!
So since I am first does that make me a legend too?
Yes

Can you make a video about the Panzer III ausf. A
Already made:

It's strange that you spend so much time talking about suspension and so little time talking about the gun, radio, and other really important parts.
It already covered in previous videos

hello
no german pronounces ausf.d. it is written like this to save space, but not spoken. it is always pronounced ausführung d.
bye
Actually the Panzer III Ausf D is not the same as the Panzer III Ausf d
It should be named Panzer III Ausf.(or Mark) capital D

Well, nobody was, but some could have been & decided not to.
This "tried to conquer the world" is just Allied propaganda.
Ausführung..... maybe speak it like Aus-fyr-roong (short oo sound)
"Ausf" 😅
Please stop speaking the short Ausf.
Just have it say Ausführung.
ITS NOT A PRNDl!

You don’t need to say “Ausf” every time.
“Panzer 3 D” is what we would call it in German.
