The HM on the tear strip, I’m almost certain, stands for Hitachi Maxell. Great video on cassettes-keep ‘em coming!! 🤩👍🏽

For a 45 years old Type 0, this actually sounds really consistent. You can easily spot the drop-off in air/treble on the tape, probably due to autocal overbias or the inner workings of the DNR system. Too bad the D7 doesn't allow external bias fine tune like some other decks.
But the tape seems to keep its level really well. Which is a really good sign. Plus, the deck's transport seems really stable itself.

I bought my first Maxell UD in 1974, cost me a lot of money then. My first TDK tape was in 1973, the famous 'TDK SD C90'. It was £1.53 in UK money then!

Cool video ! I vote for a newer cassette tape for the next video. 😎👍

at 8:46 ... those numbers on the window of the cassette are not minutes (there aren't 100 minutes of time on this cassette), they are actually percentages of the tape used. So if the gap between the two hubs lines up at the "50" mark, then 50% of that tape's side has been used. It's not very accurate, but it's better than nothing. Cool Maxell tape!
