As a kid in the 80s I was always looking out for keep left bollards that had been hit by a car & put at the roadside. I used to nick the spines & remove the ballasts & starters. True were based in Tipton I think. Pearce Gowshall was another name I remember.

yay i done the same. i remember those. had the gear and 2 tubes in one spine unit. had a kettle lead plug on them too
