Don’t use vinegar- use ODOBAN. I have to wash a lot of urine sheets for seniors and it sanitizes, and does all that vinegar work. Home Depot has all the scents.

It's a superior product to white vinegar and fabric softener. There is nothing quite like it on the market. For vinegar to be effective, you’ll need 3x more than Downy Rinse & Refresh.
Also, there is a free & gentle version that has zero fragrance. That's the type I prefer.

I got a question: I think my LG washer with agitator is causing black streaks on my clothes but I am unsure why and how. Please help.

Im from South Africa, i really wish these different products would be available here, we’re quite limited to the selection of Laundry products that are available in stores, Our powder detergent comes in a plastic bag whereas everywhere else is cardboard 😅 its really weird 🤣

So you use it in addition to detergent? What does detergent do that r&r doesn’t?

I have seen some people recommend vinegar as an alternative, but I was concerned with that eating through the rubber in side of the washing machines. What about using a small amount of food grade citric acid powder?

I use food grade citric acid on my towels, white sheets, cleaning rags, and pet stuff. I use DR&R on clothes. DR&R isn’t quite as harsh. I noticed some pilling on clothes and my family preferred the light scent of the DR&R. I probably use citric acid 70% of the time so it’s a big savings.

I can’t speak as a professional but I’ve been using citric acid since I bought my LG washer 6 years ago and haven’t had issues or seen any damage- but that could be an anomaly.
