    The iX electric flagship is underpinned by the latest, 5th generation BMW eDrive platform, which is also found under the new iX3 and will also make its underneath the upcoming i4. The architecture comprises the two electric motors, the power electronics, the charging technology and the high-voltage battery.
    The power unit of the BMW eDrive is manufactured as sustainably as possible and, thus, rare earths are absent. The maximum output of the ensemble exceeds 370 kW / 500 PS (490 hp), while the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is possible in under 5.0 seconds.
    According to preliminary measurements, the 100 kWh gross energy content of the high-voltage battery is sufficient enough to guarantee an overall range of above 600 kilometers, in the context of the low combined consumption figure of 21 kWh / 100 km calculated as per WLTP cycle. In the EPA FTP-75 range test, the new BMW iX achieves more than 300 miles.

    one month into my new 2023 iX 40 (drove around 1100km) and getting powertrain issue message on the dash which appears then disappears happened 3 times so far this week....taking it to my dealer in sept...hopefully its not too serious especially after that battery recall lol

    Sad how far BMW electromobility fell behind the competition since the i3. Instead of GEN4 being pure EVs, they fell asleep at the wheel, with PHEVs (speaking as a long time i3 owner).

    Ordered an i4 m50 yesterday, the seller told me I might get a 2023 model...

      The 'Model Year' (MY) convention is truly dumb. He meant you may get a 2022 production. In other words, production and delivery are exhausted this year.

      @@nessuno5403 Yeah, I know he meant the 2022 production. The MY determination has lower to none meaning these days for many brands, but way back when, they used to put small updates. Example the E39 had alot of changes over the years they where manufactured. If it's still reasonable to keep or not is a whole other discussion to have though.

      @@HDStarlight agreed, but nowadays also, production lines are able to implement running improvements immediately. You'd doubt there would be much difference between MY22 and MY23 ... may be new only updated firmware, which is sad. Cars weren't computer on wheels once.

      @@bmwblog are you such fan bois or blind? It's not just about the driving. Owning a vehicle involves emotions including every time you walk away and look back. With these new BMWs, you walk away ashamed.

      @Ferdi Posh oh dear... seriously? The 328 had more integrated overall design features with a functional grille that every other car of that era had due to longitudinal engines and air cooled radiators. Are you really that shallow or brainwashed? Look up these videos: "Why BMW is no longer the leader in luxury sales" by CNBC or "What is going on with BMW's weird decisions lately?" by DeMuro or "Can a bigger vehicle solve BMW's grill issues" by Frank Stephenson.

      @Ferdi Posh the inside has nothing to do with the outside though :) Look at how many better designed EV grilles there are. BMW had to try something new, but this new design theme is very amateurish at best. And enough for me and other BMW owners to walk away.
