- We have had our hands on the Gen 8 from Redcat racing for a little while now, and Jeremy has been taking the truck on all sorts of adventures while he worked on the review. He shot a bunch of footage along the way, and we compressed it down to a nice short 5 minute vid. There are some great slow motion tumbles that will make those diehard's cringe. I know Jeremy had a blast with the Gen8, but you can read all about it in the review on Big Squid RC.

New redcat looks sick
I got mine yesterday. Seems really well designed and built. Bigger than I was expecting too.
I've been seeing a lot of vids on this new gen8 n it looks great with the portals, but I have the TRX4 n I think Ill stick with it over getting one of these, nothing wrong with them, I just already have a crawler with the portals n thats why I'm happy with what I have
I've got several TRX-4's and have been eyeing the Gen 8. But to be honest, the parts and support of Redcat products pales in comparison to Traxxas, so while it seems like a more affordable crawler, who knows what delays and shipping parts will cost. Being able to walk into my LHS or even Amazon and get parts for my TRX-4 or SCX10 is a great thing.
@@InvisiMan2006 i talked to my local hobby store and they are going to stock parts for this, the preorders on this are going up all over the place
@@drummerdad80 Unfortunately, in Canada, Redcat being sold at a local hobby shop is nearly unheard of. I'll keep an eye out, though. I do own a few Everests 😉

As other reviews have gone, the initial reviews have been mostly about unboxing.. omg check out the bubble wrap.. initial thoughts of how this or that is going to last or perform, all from the bench/table.
Nice to see a running video that kind of disproves all the negative thoughts about the Gen 8. Nice write up on your website too.

Is it necessary to seal the vent holes in the rims or does this model have them? WATERPROOF should mean tires too. Not so much on traxxas models. Showing my noob!!!!
