Those are some good looking border collies. I had a border collie when growing up and she was a great cattle dog never any formal training on rounding up cattle or if someone left a gate open she would hard gate till we got gate closed and even she was very protective over us kids if dad was wrestling with us she would nip him to tell him it wasn’t right
@aTrippyFarmer I'd be interest to know if that jumper hose would work on a split row planter with jumper hoses already on every row. Could u provide seed to 3 rows from a single bulk tank hose by using 2 y jumpers?
Just curious of the dimensions on your storage shed? It sure doesn’t seem that big until you start pulling equipment in and out. Looking forward to your spring videos.
Durameter makes a 3” meter that I’ve heard is a lot better. I’ve got one in the shop to try on my new tender this year. Another thing I plant to get is an accuvolume for in the sprayer tank whenever I trade sprayers
Yes. You want it to be in neutral so the unfold process is done with the least amount of resistance possible. The planter often pushes/pulls the tractor.
As an OK State alum, I can’t tell you how much I’m glad Underwood lost. But alas, I do think there isn’t anyone going to beat Purdue. Their big guy is a man among boys. I’m shocked you didn’t know about the bypass tube. I’ve had one for years.
Hi from oz andy. If i only put 350 hours on a tractor per year i would call that a small year. Ive put 3600 hrs over three years onto my current tractor.
On our farm, we got an 8235r and it’s our only mfwd tractor, we put around 600 a year or so on it doing everything from mowing barditches to running our wheat drill. We do got 2 smaller tractors, but sometimes it’s just easier to get the big tractor out.
Farmers in the midwest tend to overinvest in equipment to reduce the risk of not getting spring crops planted. Our tractors also don't do a lot of small tasks. The planting tractors don't mow or run augers. The 8R370 pulls the grain cart in the fall, so that puts more hours on.
Jumper tube......who knew??? That was for sure an AhhHaa! moment.
Agreed. It would've been nice to know that many years ago!

They are good dogs. They have really enjoyed the big yard at the farm!
You could zip tie them together in the middle to keep them in place.
That works until you have to get them out, if you ever need to.
Great vid. Wouldn't you have your grate at the top of the bin so you can clean it from your platform? We do.
I have cold started it before. It doesn't get much use anymore!
Peace
👍👍
Appreciate it!
Good job
one huge planter..how many acres a day can u cover utrippy?
the rows look very narrow compared to what we had on farm in iowa on the 60,s
No easy answer. Always depends on field size and road travel. It wouldn't be hard to get 500 acres per day per planter.
Looks like u need 2 of those jump hoses if the hose that plugs is feeding 2 rows. Thats a helpful tip.
You certainly couldn't have too many extras!

I want to say it is like 70x150.

I have heard good things about that accuvolume system!
@@aTrippyFarmer If I'm not mistaken Tony Fast had a pretty good video on it when he stretched his sprayer tank
when opening and closing the planter do you have to put the tractor in gear or neutral and let the planter push/pull you ??
Neutral. Older case planters u have to reverse and planter has brakes you set

Awsome vid man
Wow man totally tubular
Thanks!
Which county do you farm in? I've spent some time at U of I back many years ago. I lived in Urbana. Thanks for the great videos.
Robson from Brazil
I farm in Coles County. I am south of Champaign/Urbana 2 counties. Douglas county is in between.
What camera monitor you run?
2:20 - I see the old John Deere 4520 in the background, fire it up, that would make for a great cold start video-
cats are smart.....they are gods

Boiler up!!!!!
I like Underwood but I am not sure he is a great strategic coach. Purdue is the team to beat. They are great!
if i win the lotter..i will buy a farm at 73....not kidding...i miss it

I'll give you 2000$ for those 3500$ worth of weights
