I have come to appreciate the old plastic Christmas decorations. I used to think they were too tacky. Over the years I have come to like many of them for their kitch factor. ❤
Oh my gosh, my Nan had a church like that. Unfortunately a son of hers sold a heck of a lot of stuff before her death, without any family members knowing. I always wished I would get the church. So many memories. It is what it is. Great items in there, love the rocking Santa and the little candle truck.
I certainly enjoyed your great video! Some nice stuff in the box. As it's all Christmas, it's ALL great. I do know that the plastic church is from the 1960s.
Love to watch you open unknown items in a box! That Christmas one was really a special one. My mom sold Avon and passed away in 1985. So alot of those Avon pieces were nice to see! Thank you. ♥️
I loved the church and that Santa in the rocking chair is so adorable. He's perfect for you. I truly enjoyed this. Love ya stay safe, warm, and well. Hugs and. Prayers:-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-)
I had two of the Avon mouse hearth pieces...gave them to my mouse-loving senior woman friend! she loved them. Again, I keep forgetting I'm a senior as well!! What?? I have the Avon snowman! Santa is BALD! I like that vintage truck, with Santa as delivery man. That plastic church reminds me of a simple model of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church here in S.F. Faces a fine park in North Beach...Washington Square. I still see those Santa figurines from time to time at the thrift stores.
A very neat assortment of Christmas decorations fresh out of the storage locker. It´s always appreciative to see that the majority of these items are still in their original packaging. You also got a nice background music and a finger nail design which fits perfectly to this topic. 😉👍. Can we hope to see some more unboxing vids on your East Asian items, Renée ? 🤭🙂 Greets from GER, U.
If I do any more of the Asian items, that will probably be next week. Not sure if viewers have seen enough china tea sets :0) My nails were in dire need of getting done, they endure so much from digging in boxes, sorting paper, lifting, etc. Still trying to find a glove company that has a glove line just for women who have their nails painted (added protection/coverage over the fingernails would be perfect!)
Yay!!! My family had the wind up church!!! What memories that brings back!! As a young married woman I went to many Christmas Around the World parties. I guess they were my generation's Tupperware parties!🥰🥰🥰
I remember when these companies sold some of these items! They were sold at home parties where the hostess got free gifts the more her friends and family bought! And yes I think I do have a couple of them! 😃 Christmas is fun, even cheesy Christmas! Please be careful and stay safe! ❤❤
@@PaperandMoose My Mom sold toys on the party plan for a company called Playhouse Toys. That was back in the mid to late 60's I believe. I recognized the plastic cathedral-type church as one that she sold. Brings back great memories of those times and vintage Christmas! Thanks for sharing!
I still have mine from when I was little. When you see how much they sell for on eBay, you can't believe it. I won't sell mine though, many happy memories of using it during the holiday!
Love rocking Santa 🧑🎄 Love your new word "Meltage" you make me laugh 😃 What a lovely box of glee. I never tire of the element of surprise even though some of the pieces might be a bit twee. I enjoyed the Christmas music again, too. Hope all goes well Stay safe Janice 👵 🇬🇧 xxx
I noticed the Goodwill in my small town keeps a Christmas and Halloween section stocked year round. Of course, it looks like a bunch of overpriced junk that no one would even buy during those holidays. They also have 3 cases and 2 rolling carts filled with more overpriced so called ‘antiques’ and ‘collectibles’. They finally decided they weren’t exactly a high end book reseller, so most books now are once again 99 cents. I think resellers finally have figured out that Goodwill is not always a honey hole of bargains. Flea markets, estate sales, and auctions are still where the real treasures are found. Raise that bid card proudly high in the air, keep that disinterested poker face look, and contain that winning urge to jump and shout, ‘I got it you fools’! LOL.
The nearest Goodwill also now keeps holiday out year-round. No need to feel that you might miss out on something if you don't go that often, because the same items are still gracing the shelves a month or two later! I'm not sure why they do not mark down the holiday after the holiday has passed. Too much shelf space gone to waste when they could put out much more of the overpriced items :0) Hope all is well, Rickey!
@@PaperandMoose You know, I’ll soon be 69. I am still firing on at least 4 of my 6 cylinders. I have always felt that life after 40 was a gift. I try and keep the bad BS things that are happening in perspective. I always check in, making sure that life always brings you smiles and laughter. You never disappoint. You are always in the deep recesses of my heart and thoughts. Peace.
Christmas Around the World was a company structured like Tupperware parties. You would host a party then get free stuff for sales and hosting. I had one WAAY back in the late 1970s. I think the last thing I had from the party I hosted broke last year. After the nightmare of hosting, then delivering all that crap that was sold, I had to promise my husband I would NEVER have another party to sell anything ever again!! I never did.
out poped a check book. I spent the afternoon tearing up old check books and registers. I was suprised to find them and know I should leave to the end. got a back ache so came to watch you. I loved Avon in its day. I sold on routs and had fun doing that.
Hi Renee. The whole box was fun. I love every mystery boxes you get either from an Auction or Taco Stack's. Renee, you are so amazing to do so many wonderful video's. Love the Santa's at the end. Just be careful with the box you put aside, that you said could have something in it. God Bless you Renee. Take care. Mari'a. 👍👍👍👍🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗💃💃💃💃❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Ho-Ho! Man making us wait till Christmas on that last box was painfull! I remember that plastuc greenery with flowers growing up in the 70's & 80's, it was falling apart then. Mom would likely say us kids were just rough on it and "need to settle down!" 🤣. Many of those ceramics I remember also, may have even bought some, and bells... well mom still displayed her collection to this day. Guess it was a "go to gift" when spoon collecting ended. Thanks for sharing 👍🎅👍
I did enjoy this video I love going through the boxes seeing what the next item is it’s like I’m digging in one. myself anyway thanks for the video I did enjoy it and I will catch you on your next one
If Clarence & Zuzu are right, and, "Every time a bell rings, an Angel gets their wings," you should be able to ring that one bell and fix the break. You might have to ring it a lot if others are ahead in line. Great box - is that an 88 on the back of Rockin' Santa's chair as in 1988 or does it just look like one? Thanks a million for the video to put an end to a long morning. Hope the rest of your Thursday is fantastic!
Santa is already packed away for next year, so I wasn't able to check. Could have been an 88, that wouldn't surprise me for the date. I think the wind-up musical items phased their way out after the 80s/90s... wonder when that trend will start up again? It's been nice weather here for February, but I've been inside getting work done. Have to decide if I want to go to an ephemera auction this weekend... lots of heavy hitters will probably attend, but maybe I can win a few boxes! Hope the rest of your day goes well!
I don’t think you realize how much some of those items are worth. 😅 I would love to have them ❤❤you make my heart ache the way you don’t kind of just put them away without packing them up with a lot of paper to wrap them in. 😢❤but I love your videos.
And I'm pretty sure that chuch came with an electric light bulb. There's a hole on the back side where you insert the light. You can buy replacement cords for these too as well as small LED night-light sized bulbs that don't get hot like the old incandescent ones used to. We had a church like this in the 1970s when I was growing up.
Hello Renee. Question, do you think you could fix the swing to the Santa n Mrs. Clause? I would have to try myself because it looked so cute. I liked the last box with the rolly polly Santa’s the last one’s eyes are so freaking cute. I don’t think it was a bad box at all . The rocken Santa is a keeper for sure. But he needs a hat for sure. Take care. 🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🫖☕️🫖☕️🫖☕️🥰🥰💯💯💯💯💯

The church and rocking Santa were awesome!
The first plastic item, I would buy a gold ink pen and go over the lettering. I put masking tape around the edges, so it doesn't make a mess.
I loved the church and that Santa in the rocking chair is so adorable. He's perfect for you. I truly enjoyed this. Love ya stay safe, warm, and well. Hugs and. Prayers:-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-)

Christmas Around the World was huge in my family growing up! My mom used to have parties all the time all year long.
