I think you absolutely nailed it with "how long have they been in business" and "what level are they currently at" It's super overlooked. I landed my first client with 0 experience with this business coach. No one was pitching him because he was still early stages in his digital journey but already had an analog business for 40+ years. So despite his small following, he had money. Even as a newbie, it was easy for me to get him from level 1 to level 6 instead of trying to get someone else from level 9 to level 10.

I'm so glad. Mind if I ask why? Like how come Q&A videos vs the other ones.

      1. It feels like you're having a two-way conversation.
      2. The questions feel more intense as it is something is that actually bothering someone right now.
      3. I don't know what the questions will be. I'm someone who has followed you for a long time; I've read your blog posts, tweets, etc., so whenever you post about your writing tone method, your origin story, or your headline formula, it's something not new to me. But with Q&A, I just don't know what you're going to answer.
      4. Many of the Q&A answers feel like you're answering them on the spot, even tho I know you have thought about these problems before and have written about them. They don't feel that prepared.

This video gave me peace of mind. I don't have to overthink things, and I don't have to have tons of experience in the niche I've chosen. Letting the client simmer in my price is also a fantastic move. I just need my first client to apply for it, Jaja. Thanks, Cole. You're always teaching magnificent stuff.

Need to hear this multiple times to remind myself to avoid common mistakes.

My best takeaway: Gaining clarity on 'metrics that determine how valuable was the provided ghostwriting service to the client'. Absolutely it is subjective for every kind of service and business. Relevance is the key to work on the controllable, and the impact becomes evident based on the before-after scenarios. That's the killer there!

Been a well paid ghostwriter for 5 years now but my major clients change or never mention my name and therefore, I have a ghost portfolio with no proof that I've actually written tens of thousands of words of A-quality copy...

If we can articulate their problem more clearly than they can, we will be more likely to be trusted and eventually land that client.
    1. Make them aware of their problem. Describe it.
    2. Present that you know how to help them get out of their "hell" and take them to "paradise".

Student of Ship 30 for 30 here. Really love your approach and methodology to digital writing.
I'd really like to learn more about how your approach can be applied in a niche that isn't obviously actionable or educational.
For instance: If I write about physical training it's easy to write for the reader, educating them on training methods etc.
But how would I go about it if I'm trying to niche down and write about entertainment, movies, video games and such?

Hi Nicolas, is the sports industry good for ghostwriting services? I have many years of experience in basketball, and my brother is also a football player, but we’re not sure what athletes need when they don’t have their own product or business. Besides autobiographies, what other types of services can we offer them?

Hey man, just my 2 cents, but I plan to start a ghostwriting business in the same industry (sport and sportech, look it up) on the French market.
Athletes can benefits from ghostwriting because it might help them get : consulting deals (tv commentators, blogs, stream...) they can also teach during bootcamps or change their career from athletes to coach/assistant coach, they can do motivational speeches for company (the more famous they are the easier it will be...)
These are just a few ideas on the top of my mind
As you can see, there are many things their athlete career might lead to...
      Hope it helps !
