    Synthwave is actually how 80s people imagine the music of the future. But it's actually how we imagine the people of the 80s imagined the music of the future.

      Well first off, I pretty sure Synthwave isn't from the 80s so it is "Modern Synth Pop" do an extent. And it's not trying to copy the pop music of the 80s, but to capture a feeling of that decade through the lens of movies and shows. Throwing synths in is one of the best and easiest ways of doing it as Synths became popular during the 80s and therefore gives the feeling of the old Roland's and Moog's. This track kinda loses the feeling with the vocals and the effects.

    • @kevinbonilla3959

      @@KulibobCZ Both Blinding Lights and this song on the video are not remotely close to synthpop or synthwave, both would be considered popwave which derived from synthwave but uses modern sounds from 2010s pop. There is a lot of misunderstanding when it comes to many synth genres, synth pop sounds extremely different and is nowhere near close to sounding like this. Same with Synthwave, I'd highly reccomend you listen to Mitch Murders song Prime Operator, that's what pure synthwave sounds like from when it was just starting out.

    As a child of the 80’s I love modern music with an emotional 80’s flare. I feel like this song would be played endlessly on Chicane’s Sunsets podcast.... and I’d be Shazamming the sh!t out of it until it’s mine! I’d buy this track and play on repeat. Thankful my hubs just showed me this!

    Hey. Just wanted to say that this is more likely considered as Outrun than Synthwave. Synthwave is chill with bpm ranging from 60-90. Outrun is like Eurobeat - fast paced and lively (120+ bpm) I made a lot of synthwave before. Here's my awarded by DJtechs track I made a while ago. th-cam.com/video/QtPD_vXzDPg/w-d-xo.html
    Edit: I know that you did the track in 88 bpm but the drums and arps are making it feel twice as fast. I do not want to hate though. I love the final product.

      Works for compressor release times too if you divide the final result by 4. What a coincidence!

    • @stnkr_5508
      @stnkr_5508 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can you give an example with a result number ? This is in ms ?

    • @JimmiG84
      @JimmiG84 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stnkr_5508 Yes ms, so e.g. 60 000 / 120 divided by 4 (or just divide by 120*4) gives you a quarter-note release time of 125 ms, which tends to work well. Other time divisions might work better in some situations, but you usually want something related to the tempo to make the comp pump in time with the beat :)

    You took the general concept of 80's synthwave pop music and added elements of today's music such as 'drops', which there weren't any back in the 1980's. But, it still sounds like modern music of today with an 80's homage. I would know, I grew up in the 1980's. Example: Phil Collins, 80's megastar, made a song called "Two Hearts" back in the 80's but it was inspired by the 60's music of Motown era that he grew up listening to when he was a kid. Yet, I'm 100% sure that those that grew up in the 60's wouldn't call it 60's music of their day. A great homage non the less but, still not the same. Growing up in the 80's and listening to the radio, because we didn't have Pandora, the Internet and barely any MTV (you had to be rich to have cable television in the early 80's) many of the musician's on the radio tried imitating music from the 50's and 60's. Every era does this, they look back for inspiration so they can move forward. By the way, I love your track. It was awesome!
