How to write 80's Funk & Boogie music.

  • In this video I condense down all the elements needed to write 80's funk and boogie music. From the music theory behind it, cultural influences, drums, bass, chords, leads, and more!
I'm using FL Studio, however any workstation will do. So if you use Ableton, Reason, Logic, Studio One, and so on there will be no issues following along.

This video is great and I actually would like to make a request on a concept you touched earlier here on the bass part and that's outlining a chord. It's something I honestly struggle with a lot. The idea of taking a chord progression and splitting up the notes to make a full song. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing a video on you taking a simple chord progression and dissecting how you outline them with the different instruments if that makes sense.
