Resistances are expensive to fix. You see, when an elemental attack hits yourr character, it not only looks at your resistances but all your defensive stats, your offensive stats, your utility stats, your bank account, your cash shop history and then it decides randomly how much damage the attack does. We just don't have the technology to fix that until Season 3.
they will never fix it. But you can probobly find immunity potions soon in the cash shop soon enough, 5 for 15 US$ ;)

Blizzard stated “player choice” was the key principle with regards to development. There’s no choice when you absolutely have to have unstoppable up 95% of the time.
You only need it up 5% of the time... whenever you fight an elite or boss thay has cc. It seems like it happens all the time, because it's frustrating to get perma ccd, and because crowd controls are not yet balanced in the game, but it's seriously only about 5% of the game where you NEED your unstoppable skill off cd. Evade works well enough for the other 95% of the game.

Do you remember when you could just put on a belt or a ring with "cannot be frozen" in D2? Or an amulet that makes you immune to ice in D3? That technology was lost to time

I member when the D2 devs removed Iron Maiden in act 4 since it was insta gib for melee chars. It had its problems but the most annoying shit was removed.

You literally have to have an unstoppable button or you're dead. At least with burning damage, you can just pop a potion.
Yeah unfortunately that's how it goes. I have a Sorcerer with Frost build and I have to seriously consider swapping my Ice Armor for Flame Shield to become unstoppable.
@@L4tinoR4g3havent played in 2 weeks but on my sorcerer i have the ice armor and 2 of my equips have the legendary affix for making ice armor unstoppable for 3-5 secs or something and its STILL NOT ENOUGH

yeah havent played much, but Id like to try melee...As ice shard you use the ice block ultimate, teleport, ice armor and flame shield...So literally 4 help buttons.
Wind also freezes the player over time, when those two stack it’s a nightmare.
That's why it's called Nightmare Dungeons
It's even more unfun when you get a pack of 4+ elites where they have 2-3 copies of cold enchanted and 2-3 copies of wind wall among them, so you have like 6-9 wind walls up at once with 6-9 cold enchanted bombs covering your entire screen and going off all at the same time.

I lost my 69 necro today to three cold enchanted werewolves. Not only was I frozen but I was STILL frozen through my death evasion potion which gives you 2 seconds of immunity. Paying 100.00 to beta test a incomplete game. Feels bad

Oh the porcupines, a pack of them with cold enchant. I remember them on pre season. I could not even do anything on my rogue. If i stealthed and burst them they shotgun me to death. If i dont they start firing cold enchant thorns off screen.

When I was playing before the season started, running nightmare dungeons to level my glyphs, I ran into a pack of 3 cold-enchanted porcupines. I was a maxed twisting blades rogue, min-maxed quite hard. Those fucking things I COULD NOT KILL. From the moment I'd come up on them, they would freeze me, I'd burn my 2 unstoppable skills, then I'd simply freeze again until I died. It was so frustrating. I ended up dashing past them and never looking back.

Skill issue. Why did he use earthen bulwark before the fight started? That was his get out button and he wasted it before the fight. Asmon would have lost that debate with me lol

I would be less annoyed with all the CCs if I had A) more skill slots and B) faster cool downs on those unstoppables. As a rogue I had backstab and that one legendary that gives you an extra charge so it was manageable but as a necro my one CC break ability has an annoyingly long cooldown and it's hardly useful beyond that. That's a whole ass skill slot I could be using for something more enjoyable.
Agreed. I prefer 0.5 second unstopable every 4 to 5 seconds, than a fucking 4 seconds unstopable every 20-50 seconds.

I know for me I played Rogue until season started. I used Shadow step to get out of CCs. It has a 12 second cooldown and I get refrozen before I get it back.

Poe had the same issue once season where they changed flasks and it was basically impossible to play the game unless you where an ailment immune Ascendancy. ARPGs don't function without reliable CC interruptions
Yeah that's why they fixed that issue. Not only in ARPG, in any game, when you lose control over your character, that's not fun. And when that causes your death, it's even less fun. PoE has some things that are even more annoying than cc chain, like the stupid adds that explode on death sending spikes all over the place and if you're too close they can actually kill you in one shot, but at least you have ways to counter everything that can one shot you, resistances do work, you have armor, flask, skills that absorb dmg, or reduce that dmg, CI for chaos damage, items with immunity to some stuff like bleeding or freeze, you have way more things to fix those issues that what you have in D4.

You'll be surprised how many people feel the need to say something despite not knowing anything about the subject at hand. They want to appear smart and controversial despite not actually being smart nor actually having their own opinions, always defaulting to the opposite view.
To be fair the shield breaks cc and he used it just at the start of the combat
yeah not an optimal use of skills, but hey it's not a boss, it's an elite. alone :/ the game doesnt feels smooth at all, killing monsters feels clunky, getting killed too
The ice affects should not freeze it should slow at most and shadow should not stop u from using your abilities it should at least be either a damage over time or a resource depletion over time
It stacks chill effect and if you have too many chill stacks you get frozen. Usually you just get chilled, but the guy got frozen because he got hit by multiple chilling hits in a really short duration.

I do think that it should freeze, but not nearly as much as it does. And Elites that have higher attack speeds should have less of a chance.
I remember that bleed dog and the video explaining it. It was well explained.
If the druid wouldn't pre emtivliy used his bulwark shield, and wait with it for actual danger moment such as one that killed him, he would be still alive.

It took two decades to get these problems recognized and fixed, after a revamp/relaunch, after multiple updates. Do they have QA? Did they all quiet quit?
They have QA (my friend works as QA for Blizzard), they know about bugs, they find plenty of them daily, they just don't give much of a damn.

I can almost bed resistances are broken because they don't account fir the fact we take damage from multiple sources while enemies take damage from just us
The fact that I smash everything in the game like it's nothing until I hit a cold enchanted elite says it all nothing does any damage to my rogue but a cold enchanted minion will burst me instantly down to 0. I think other affixes are extremely weak compared to cold enchanted it's almost a joke 😊

Skill issue
First off. If you play HC you inherently play the game very differently. You play safe and easy stuff. I dare you to do a T100 NM Dungeon with deadly affixes on your HC sorc. You won´t. So stop falsely making arguments based on the fact that these two completely different play styles would somehow correlate. They don´t.

Ive been playing the Early Access to Balders Gate III recently, and im happy to say in 40 hours I might have been crowd controled once, by a sorcerer, and even then I had other characters in my party to fight with.
The "just get the unstoppable skill" has got to be the dumbest take. What's the point of allowing people to _not_ take the unstoppable skill if it's supposed to be absolutely required in all builds? Just give it to every player for free then and add an extra button. Otherwise, you're reducing build diversity and playstyles while talking about how much you like having fewer options.
How about the 4 directional infernal enchanted death. Those things eat you alive and your minions.

You’re a sweat who would be willing to back blizzard for the soul purpose of making themselves seem better, or as the par for what everyone should be for the game. Absolute stupidity
To be fair, Duriel was an awful fight in D2 because of the Holy Freeze and stuns. Not to mention, Holy Freeze’s slow was different than chill, so thawing potions did absolutely nothing to help.
That being said, D4 looks awful. Blizzard lost their touch years ago
Except thawing potions do help against duriel in d2 because they reduce his damage despite not keeping you from being frozen
The game never should have gotten to release with such an integral part of the character as resistances being broken. There's no exucse for it. They have had 3 Diablos 20 years of WoW. They shoudl know what resistances are, how they work and how important they are to a game with such heavy burst damage.

I don't play druid or barb, do they not have CC breaks? I never had issues on my sorc (with CC, constant one shots were another story) since I had three CC breaks. Or do "we" think that freeze should never happen? Will resistances just increase the number of cold affix hits that it takes to freeze you? Will rolling cold resist on all jewelry slots become the new meta once fixed?

It's not just Cold, the "Suppressor" affix completely breaks the game for Necro's and Mages too, as if it wasn't bad enough.
It's so bad, I'm able to struggle through the other shitty affixes in certain dungeons to have a glimps of a goodtime, until I run into an elite with the suppressor affix and have to give up my progress and abandon the run.
Not to mention they have these elites with Suppressor AND Cold Damage locking you into instant death no matter what.
When you get popular enough to share your unpopular opinion. Lol love it, wish I could be that comfortable in my job.

I have been playing since D2 came out and my rogue can’t even play in tier 2 without getting one shot and if I do survive it takes forever to kill things just got to tier 3 and literally can’t play it. I literally have to play with my friend that’s a necro just so he can carry me. Tell me how that’s fun or a good game design
