  • Do you know how to anchor a metal shed the the slabs or concrete base?
Sheds should be anchored to the earth or the proper base, such as cement slabs or concrete base. One of the main reasons for this is that a strong gust of wind could knock your shed off its foundation. This will result in substantial damage that is expensive to restore.
Securing the shed is a very quick an easy job so it's definately worth considering.

Priceless, red plug and gold screw, If you do this id keep a keen eye on the screws because they could rust out pretty quick if they get wet, the sealant will mean that the bottom of the shed and screw are more likely to stay wet rather than dry out. Alternatively don’t use such feeble fixings or use stainless screws, that shed should be lasting you a fair few years, i would want the fixings holding the shed down to outlast the shed.

You can pull out any plastic anchor by hand.. either use a tapcon screw, a proper butterfly wall clamp or a helix style anchor.. would never use those kind of plastic anchors..

I'd use exterior 'L' anchor bolts drilled from below the pads through the shed floor at each corner and at mid points.

I used what I had on hand. :)

He's using the wrong type of screws make sure you use the correct ones that do not rust

Hoping you can help, I've just received a similar Yardmaster shed which I was going to install on pre-laid heavy concrete pavers. What I didn't realise when laying the pavers was that a damp proof membrane needs to go below the pavers to prevent condensation in a metal shed (apparently concrete pavers soak up moisture from beneath and then into the atmosphere above). Have you installed a DPM beneath your base? If not, have you had any issues with condensation? Thanks

I did not install DPM. I don't see any problems with condensation. I never thought about it. Maybe look for information on the construction forum?

@@k-nemo I only seen it mentioned by chance when looking for installation videos. May not bother either and hope the sheds ventilation is sufficient

Ive had this down three years and its started to soak through around the edges. Need to try and prize up each section of wall and use dpm to create a kind of flashing/skirt to overhang the base.😰

Are those screws just for concrete or can I use them for my 10x8 arrow storage shed built on 2x6's and 3/4 inch plywood. If yes can you share a link to where I can purchase them, thanks for the video......

Really great video but why did you use regular small plastic drywall anchors? Maybe they will work but I don’t think it will hold for long. I was hoping to see what kind of concrete anchors you can use on a metal shed

I had these at home. Easy to install. I think they are sufficient.

I built a 10 x8 planning to put it on a wood floor. Whats the best way to tie that to the ground? Now to this kinda construction so any ideas appreciated

Easiest way is lay hardcore with good drainage or use concrete slabs undeath and lay a polythene membrane under the wooden floor, don't put directly on soil as the wood will rot and you will get condensation from the ground evaporating in winter and condensing on the metal inside the shed

Did the sealant keep out the rain in the end ?
