What people start to understand is that those players plays pro at 15-16 with grown men and experience guys in euro league and French league. European basketball is much more tactical so when young players grows physically they have it all at 18-19

JV Jonas Valančiūnas who played for Toronto Raptors/ Memphis Grizzlies and Pelicans then Domantas Sabonis played for Indiana Pacers now plays for Sacramento Kings. And he didn't know that Lithuania plays basketball.. Stop with the disrespect.. We won the Gold Medals back in the 2003 with our basketball national team...

Nolan Traore is coming next year, a great point guard with head on his shoulder, started playing pro this year and scored 45 in european youth tournament.
Developpement has been set as they do in Soccer/football, it comes mainly to one thing,kids dont have to pay to play,the reach is hence enormous.
Always said this about the difference between European sports and American. Everything is pushed through college systems and is super political and tough to get through. Europeans make it to pro levels off skill alone. We have seen the best players in soccer history on the field but I'd bet money the best Basketball player to ever have lived never made it to the pros due to school politics.

Lithuania won the first of their 3 straight Olympic bronze medals in 1992. All eyes were on the dream team but I still remember seeing Lithuania in the tie-dye Grateful Dead shirts getting their medal which was pretty cool.

@onesshot5818 America was always a multi-ethnic nationality. France only recently became more ethnically diverse. Many of its citizens that aren't white are only a few, sometimes one generation removed from their family's place of descent. France today and France 2 hundreds years back are two nearly entirely different ethnic groups.
@@svenskhund3603 France has been multi ethnic since the early 1800 because of the colonisation of Africa and Asia. Alot of them being sent to France from those colony to work in France. You always had black people or Arabic in national French teams since 1930's.
That's the only reason they're interested in basketball, no one in western Europe gives a sh1t about basketball.
