The maker of this video wanted something very deep, but the result is annoying.
A lot of people still do not get it that the conversation of two intelligent person does not need any enhancement.

This vid would be so much better without the music. Not that the music is bad. It just detracts from what is being said.

Harari would be one of the few men who have understood what J Krishnamurti tried to say.

He says that story telling is our superpower. Then he tells us "not to view the universe as a story" that "the universe does not function as a story". But the universe is a story! It's a slow process of evolution. To think our ancestors have evaded war, famine, and disease OR to think that our ancestors sacrificed everything just to raise and protect their children, to try and give them a better life than themselves. This has to be the most romantic and meaningful story that we have. The hero's journey! Not to mention this story takes place on a giant space rock we call Earth which has its own incredible story that takes place within our galaxy. And the Galaxy has its OWN incredible story. All these stores are so deeply intertwined like layers to a song.

As per Victor Frankl, the individual meaning of life is the most important motivation for an individual, including finding the motivation to survive suffering in a concentration camp. By neglecting it Mr. Harari either shows that he is not familiar with Frankl's work, or more likely, that he dismisses it. Frankl himself was not giving a definition of meaning for an abstract human life, but rather an opinion that every person shall find their meaning, which could be anything from doing a meaningful positive impact for humanity (creativity, important work), or experiencing the world, raising a child, etc.
The global meaning of life, if you want, is to make the Universe thrive with life, conserve energy by building complex structures with high potential energy, slow down the growth of entropy. The role of humanity in this process is to go beyond the limits of a single planet. Life cannot proliferate in space without our help.

That is a fallacious argument. Just because, something being true would have a good impact , it doesnt mean it is true. Imagine going to your professor and asking for a better grade , because it would be better for you.
Just because something has an effect, it doesn't mean that the explanation of it, is true (ex: a religious guy which feels happier to be closer to his god , doesn't prove the existence of his god).
Frankl doesnt prove that such thing as meaning exists or should exist in an objective sense. If some feel better to have a meaning for life then good for them , but it doesnt prove much .

Arguments aside, you have a highly pragmatic take on Frankl, which I consider is the greatest impact when applying his thinking.
There is perhaps much about identity that is passive, but the actual "formation" process happens in active engagement. If this engagement is with others and it is positive, it does have profound effects. For the self, and for others

Problem is there is no real escape from vulnerability: a big challenge in life is to learn how to bear & cope with inevitable suffering as not all suffering can be avoided. At this moment in history there is such tension in the struggle for power it is difficult to embrace a vision that is adequate for the challenges we face. Hark a voice is crying all are mortal.

That's a very simple, almost animal way of looking at things. Life in a nutshell is a story. Your story. The story of every individual human that has ever lived. The meaning of life is to find your personal meaning for your existence. That meaning may change and evolve as you live. But once you find it, you'll know. Why is there suffering? Hunger? Hatred? For the same reason there exists happiness, fullness, and love. One cannot gauge one side of the coin without the other. The million dollar question is what is the meaning of humanities life as a whole. My conclusion is that it is the survival of the species plain and simple. Survival works best when we hedge our bets. We went from single life organisms and now we dominate one planet. The next logical step is to expand beyond to other planets and stars.

The meaning of life is that life is meaningless, because can’t be expressed with words. Don’t try to beleive this only close your eyes, stop your mind and be with it.

The function of our life is to be food for worms (suffering comes from knowing this), the meaning, whatever you decide is your purpose (it only appears with consciousness).
