Directorial debut from internationally renowned designer and concept artist, David Levy (Tron legacy, Prometheus, Ender's Game, Tomorrowland, Avatar2). The short film is the first 15 minutes of a science fiction TV series Levy has outlined and hopes to film. Unlike the highly VFX-ed science fiction films inundating audiences today, PLUG is a return to 1970's classics like Star Wars and Mad Max with a gritty universe made from mostly live props and real life settings. "On a post-apocalyptic Earth, Leila Dawn (Natalie Floyd), is the only human survivor. Raised by Robots after humanity abandoned the planet they destroyed with nuclear warfare, Leila cannot forget her parents nor ignore her yearning to find other organic life. A hunt she sets out on with a Military Unit, Marker (Lex Cassar), leads Leila to discover the reality she’s been denied-a reality that sparks her ultimate quest."

idk why...But sometimes i think that this Short Films are better than a lot of full movies

you know what would be cool for a girl in a post apocalyptic planet? her being bald and wearing a wig with long hair that would be a perfect suprise counter attack
Same goes for the man with the beard. It show the ignorance of someone who has never been in the military. And as I said above, after 60 yrs of sci-fi, the only change is the FX media. The plots are the same as I read in the early 1950s!

Everything is filmed in the Mojave Desert. film stars have spare houses left in my town because they come to this area so often. Scenes from Star Trek, Planet of the Apes, of which my brother was an extra, Holes, Tremors, Fast and the Furious, the entirety of Jakku from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Iron Man, The Mummy, that archaeology scene from the first Jurassic Park. All kinds of stuff.
Way better than the last video I watched with "Plug" in its name.

I hope they'll make a longer version of this short movie, because I think it really worth it to know what will happen next ! I love the robots suits, mostly the helmets with lights that give a badass design, it's just so well-done. They remind me of some Star Wars droids in the Cantina if I remember correctly... Very great job for a 'low budget' movie !
Amazing work for an indie budget
I wish I could tip you. Stuck in a nursing home with no money. But the Short Film was OUTRAGEOUS & OUTSTANDING.
I never once saw a plug and I have watched this 2 million times over the course of 5 years.
The armor designs do remind me of Destiny's. Really enjoyed it hope to see more in the future. Good work
Most armours was invented before even Destiny was on a drawaing board!
Bungie's imagination is lackluster to say the least!
System Schock, Steampunk, Metropolis, Deus Ex was way way before it's time to name a few!

Really good example of how important a good screenwriter is for a good film, they can either make or destroy a film.
This is purely professional work in all levers. Production, post-production, montage, VFX, CGI, acting, sound, lights, photography. All 100% professional. The script/story seems awesome, but we will never know until there is a continuation. The end was abrupt, as of an episode of a series. Being the case I would be very happy watching and the rest of the episodes, looks something epic.

The dates and events (nuclear waging between the United States and China) are really reminiscent to Fallout's lore.

i've watched many sci-fi productions here, and this one is one of the best among them in the amateur genre, i don't like much the story, and the cliffhanger at the end, 'cause i'd like to know more, just to see where it could go. Please develop a sequel ! :)

I’m so sad that this has been butchered because of copyright. I came back to watch this after seeing trailers for “The Creator” I thought of this video I saw years ago. It’s so sad to see such a great piece of work in such a state.

People are over here grading this like their experts on this subject, like damn, I didn't see anything wrong with it and I loved it!
It's a consumer product, and consumers are rarely experts. No, rather they are the ones being targeted and they should be able to say if they like or don't like the product without having to get technical about it. You read a book, do you have to be a writer to critique it? If you eat a meal at a restaurant, do you need to be a chef? You love it? Good for you. I did too, but nobody likes a c***tease: it just leaves you just a bit frustrated and angry. Hence, bad reviews.
...Well shit, why are all the movie producers of the world not jumping on this? This is amazing! It's Mad Max levels of creative apocalypse, I think it'd do well in theaters as a fully fleshed out movie.

Was actually searching to see if anything ever happened with Trent Reznor's Year Zero concept album finally being adapted to film. The potential with such a concept album was always so amazing. Plus I'm a total sucker for time travel, quantum mechanics and dystopian anythings. I think he was working on it with HBO or something then it fell apart, which totally sucks. Still waiting on YZ part 2, as promised.
Anyway, somehow stumbled upon this instead, and I must say, I am pleasantly surprised! Not bad at all, with some fantastic cinematography and the long angle kubrick-esque shots here and there. Love the design of the nukes lol. Sorry, just appreciate attention to detail and believability. This has a really good, cohesive look to it.

This looks good, but i gotta say, the old teaser they made looked way cooler. The machines didnt even have personalities in that one. They seemed more like cops in a wasteland.
Wow, I have seen so many amazing short films on youtube and this is one of the best. Such a gripping story, fantastic costumes/settings and cgi were applicable. I would definitely pay to see a full movie.

There's this one thing that has been bugging me just 3 minutes in -- the girl clearly takes off her mask at 2:08, but it appears back around her neck at 2:14. After that, the mask disappears at 2:16 and reappears *AGAIN* at 2:18. She then takes the mask off at 2:22 for another time.
People may say "give them a break, you couldn't make a better film", but that's exactly why I'm saying this: having such a big continuity error *so early on* in the video shows that it was *not* edited (or even looked through) carefully enough.

A dolphin named Infernicus That would be essentially impossible to program. Robots have a set of functions and only those functions.
You're comparing real life and fiction. These aren't your creations, these are the author/director's and if he wants them to be self conscious then they can be self conscious. Also who's to say that in the far future we wouldn't be able to design a near self conscious ai?
