They're arseholes, and people who aren't arseholes can exclude them for being arseholes, so eventually all the arseholes end up together in the same social groups. These aren't people that have expectations of each other, common decency and all the rest. They'd be ostracised from that group if they started saying to each other "Hey pick up your litter." Additionally, it takes guts to be that contrary and speak up against the social norms of that group of arseholes. That group of arseholes did not come together because they were so incredibly great and accepting. They came together because nobody else wanted them and they wanted the biggest posse possible to look as popular as possible. Vast majority of people haven't got the guts to question their friends like that. Maybe they'll feel bad about the litter that's left but they're not gonna pick it up themselves or take that person to task. about 3 years back i used to litter quite alot (17 at that time) i guess i was kinda in a ''I like smoking weed and not caring is cool'' and apparently all of my friends were exactly the same. Thinking back, actually young drunk people in Denmark litter like crazy, and everyone was super cool about it.

Near me is a small lake and at the lake, there was a bin that in the past was emptied regularly but recently the city/town had stopped emptying it for whatever reason so these insane people that went to the lake were overfilling it then leaving their trash around the bin because no one was emptying the bin. The trash was of course getting scattered everywhere because of wind and animals that passed through. Finally, I was so fed up with seeing all this trash I drove my truck out there when no one was around and took the bin and threw it in a dumpster (I cleaned up the trash as well so hopefully people would stop littering... I can dream)

As for the littering thing, I think as soon as one person does it, everyone else feels they can do it too. It's a conformity thing, people want to identify with the group, or even just comply with the behaviour.
Flax, on those kids littering: as a teacher, I can tell ya... the difference in behaviour between kids who have parents like you, who care, educate them on basic shit like what is or isnt appropriate or respectful and parents who dont give a shit... well it's massive. In "my" class (class teacher from grade 5 to 10 here), there's kids who are super nice and always friendly, even if their parents arent rich and/or might have gone through a divorce. Meanwhile, there are other kids whose parents I havent met yet (been in there for over a year now), despite multiple invites from me and the school officially and it's no surprise that their kids...well... they need to be told not to litter when we're outside school on trips, to help clean out the classroom or to behave well with their class mates. So much just comes down to who the parents are, how much of a crap they give and how well educated they themselves are.
As a guy who's 192cm, buying shirts/hoodies can be annoying sometimes, because I need a longer shirt but not a wider one. and when it gets into L it usually gets a lot wider but not much longer. Minor inconvenience tho.

Can I just say how bad the term "Zoomer" is for people in Gen Z? It doesn't make any sense. Boomers are called such because they were born during a baby boom, making them Baby Boomers. "Zoomer" doesn't really mean anything. We gotta come up with something better. Or I suppose we could just be like our parents and go by "Gen Z'ers"
