  • Hey Ya'll, welcome to our little hobby farm. I'm thrilled you're here! I hope you'll find a comfy chair, a cup of something hot and wonderful, and spend sometime with us.
You'll typically find me in one of two places, the garden or the kitchen. Teaching and sharing this amazing world of growing your food, cooking from scratch, utilizing your harvest, and homesteading with our family, is a passion. We hope to encourage people to grow their own food, feel confident in homesteading, and live a life both messy and beautiful, because this life comes with a bit of dirt and a lot of love.
Most often the recipes for the videos will be found on our websites www.shepherdingpeppersfarm.com or in the video description.
Every week you'll find us enjoying the wildness of raising a large family in the country. Welcome to the garden, to the kitchen, and to our small farm in South Carolina.
Faith is like a seed; plant it in your heart. God gives the harvest at the appointed time. (Mark 4:26-27,28-29)

Happy Saturday!!! I look forward to Saturday mornings with you in my kitchen while I’m doing tasks. I love seeing your harvest. It gives me hope while I’m in the process of building my soil health. (as cheaply as possible) I’m most looking forward to growing Lesya peppers! I just realized that its only about 10 weeks or so until we start seeds. I grew 1 peach pepper this year and hardly got anything but now that it’s cooler in Texas my plant is loaded! I’m going to make my husband some peach pepper jam. Thanks for sharing with us. You are adding to my knowledge and skill set. 😊 have a blessed day!

I love peppers also but I am the only one in my house who likes spicy. I wish I could grow all the varieties that you have, but they would never get all used. First year growing Leysa peeper and I agree, love them.

I have adhd too. I jump all over and my husband helps me when I get overwhelmed. I could take meds to be more focused but I choose not to. I love your garden.

The damage on your cabbage looks like slugs or snails, not caterpillars. Sluggo works good.

It may look that way but it's not, it's absolutely young army worm damage. As a horticulturist it's easy to identify the markers of which insect is causing damage.

1:23 It's crazy, you have more rain in that wheelbarrow than I had gotten in June, July and August combined here in Kentucky.
8:06 It just seems like a few weeks ago you were making Seth pronounce the Txorixero peppers for you. 😁
22:38 Fun Fact: Rollie Pollies don't eat the fruits produced by plants. 😈
29:20 Uh oh, sounds like it's time for a zero turn for the mowing speed. 😁
I'm happy to see that there wasn't much damage from the storms! Thanks for another episode, have a wonderful weekend!

That's wild! I wasn't familiar with how little rain Kentucky gets!!! We technically get more rainfall here than even Washington State (a constant drizzle, here it is a downpour once or twice a week with many inches of rain! 😂

If I have enough seeds I'll add the extras to website in the fall. They are lovely peppers. I've been growing them for so long, its second nature.

I'm so glad you all didn't get hit worse! I'm in Ga. S.E.of Atlanta. We had tons of rain & wind. My 1 tomato plant was getting whipped around but I secured it to the porch and saved it. I'm definitely going to try planting some of the peppers you grow next year. They're beautiful. The chocolate pepper is definitely one.
