I love Jeremy Wade. I hope that he will continue doing what he loves most. Catching river monsters.
I think it was that shark that had urea in it's flesh.

Greenland shark is a mysterious creature, I’m not tired at all seeing more episodes about it, and I believe that Jeremy helped a lot to study more about this fish

She said “like” meaning similar, not “it was Jaws.” Terrifying shark-like unknown creature on beach, what else can u reference that to?
Ah yes... Jaws. The movie that kept a generation out of the ocean, lake, swimming pool, etc.

It's a coastal location, most likely with a fishing port and therefore have an extensive knowledge of the wildlife of the nearby sea. Jeremy often goes to local fishermen for clues in his shows. Point is, they never saw it before and any changes to the eco-system could affect the entire economy of the location depending how reliant it was on fishing. Plus telling the story over and over again in a pub after a few pints probably made the story a lot scarier. I mean, the runner who found the shark of less than 10 feet compared it to Jaws, which is several times the size.
It's England mate. The most exciting thing we have in the sea is a basking shark... Normally !
Exactly, Australians would scoff at it saying "we've got a bigger shark in a golf course"
I'm disappointed that Jeremy didn't find a way to include a clip of that time he was nearly impaled by an angry Arapimea.

You can do it, there are several daily tours at the Natural History Museum of what they call the ‘wet specimens’ it’s well worth the £10 or so

Jeremy fished up his Greenland Shark in his quest to find out what the Loch Ness Monster might be. As most of the recorded sightings are of something that looked like an over turned boat, he concluded that, rather than being a revenant population of ancient marine reptiles, it was more likely to be a shark species that could tolerate cold and brackish to fresh water for short periods of time. Hence his pursuit and catching of a Greenland shark.
At about the same time, on North Eastern coast of North America, seals were being found with strange corkscrew shaped wounds. More and more seals were being found with these injuries, which developed in part due to how their skin and blubber tend to tear in diagonals. The initial wounds, however, were being caused by Greenland sharks- rather than being the docile scavengers everyone thought they were, they were, in fact, vicious predators who had begun to prey on seals. No-one knew what they originally ate, but that prey must have gone into a population decline, for they turned to the seals Jeremy was lucky, that the one he caught still had its original prey to hunt: otherwise, he might have been mistaken for a seal and attacked!
I think Jeremy Wade truly love his job, his actions and reactions shows it and his video is very informative and interesting for me like never been on a sea/river for fishing... I like these channel very much 👍
“That’s a Greenland shark...What’s it doing here?”
Well maybe it was sightseeing while on a summer jaunt to warmer waters.
I love the underwater world and especially your work Jeremy, also regarding your way of contact with and respect for the locals.
Iniiii river monster is heavy
imagine how terrifying it would be to have to reach into the tank to grab the shark. like watch it suddenly come back to life and bite you
That's what I thought 🙀
you had no reason saying that, this is just feeding my fear of marine animals
Was thinking the same thing. The teeths would probably hurt more than my big scissors & choppers combined

As a young kid growing up from Belize where i grew up close to sea side its always a joy to see some of the monsters that is in our waters. I like your video's
“It was like jaws” really? It was tiny lmao. How can you compare that to jaws?
nah i think it was a megalodon
Maybe she compared the size of her tv to the shark itself Lol
It is England, after all. Remember when they bragged about defeating the Spanish armada?
She also said she thought it was a whale
@@whyis45stillalive how many English people have you met that brag about that? I’m from the u.s and we are embarrassing in the way we brag about winning wars and having the right to bear arms. When in reality most of the world hates us. 🤣

Yeah not very big for a shark, even for the type
I think they said it was 9 feet which really isn't that big for sharks
That lady is dumb af
And blind.
Keep doing Jeremy.i love to watch your river monster
Sea Monsters not River Monster since we are not in the rivers anymore
@Krezalit69: Yes, but as Jeremy showed in one of his shows some shark species are capable of and do enter rivers for 100-dreds of miles upstream, like the bull shark, and the greenland shark is a serious candidate to account for the Loch Ness monster sightings.
Krezalid69 I think on that side of the UK it’s the English Channel so not a sea either
@@tresjolieme81 Nah, Northumberland is in the North East of England, our sea is the North Sea.

Shark. Its not even Jaws sized, these people probably just never saw it before
Yep it is.
"initial consensus was that it was some kind of *monster* shark" I'm sure the actual consensus was that it was a shark, and they added the *monster* bit later to make this video...
There are Greenland sharks in the Oslo fjord ^norway”. My dad caught one in a net when he was a teen.
proper random, i enjoy travelling that side of the UK... by the way the ruins at the start are dunstanburgh castle, really interesting historically (lots to do with war of the roses) i recommend the visit if you ever find yourself up that way... in fact up in northumbria there are loads of castles and ruins; from bamburgh, holy island lindisfarne, dunstanburgh castle, alnwick castle. etc.
Imagine sticking your hand in that dark water to pick up a monster
I have seen this somewhere with Jeremy but in another channel it I think before couple months or weeks
