He went to in driver seat and tried still not working gear. Soon he discovered it was foot mat folded just below clutch which was stopping to fully down. And then took out mat checked all gears , fully working. I can’t thank enough, yo that man in words. Like a angel. I was stressing whole day coz I had to drive 5 hours next day.
hello good day, I changed clutch and pressure plate and after second day the when I shift second gear the gear not linked? after I checked excel all are good I start car and shift the gear without clutch all gear are working without any sound, its Opel Astra H 1.6 benzina, do you have any opinions for me?
So how do you get the selector box ontop of the in to the setting where you press the little pin on the selector where there is no spring pin on the selector box im geusing a 5speed f16 gearbox
I have the same gearbox on a Chevrolet lacetti it being a gm car same as Vauxhall but try as i might wobbling that gear linkage while pressing that spring loaded button refuses to budge in. Heat and wd40 on it ???
and how do you get the gear assembly you had up to show, out of the place it sits in normaly? mine is a 91 1,6 qad i cant get the center pin out to remove it all!

yeah looked at it and im still on a standstill , cant get the big end pin out , wont budge at all so i thought there was some trick to it , but dosent seem to be on your vid tho. guess im in for bad luck. thanx for the vid and explenation, nice of you.
on vectra b two liter auto it is under battery tray remove that screwdriver under plastic tabs near tray to release plastic electric plate with box, selector looks triangular , lever moves when gears shift. need to pull dipstick pipe out from engine , can clean around first. selector socket has red plastic on side that pulls out to release it can use screwdriver. dont push on rubber hose near center back top engine with arm or jacket rolled up sleeve while reaching for it , will leak gasoline. big screwie under selector and push down so it levers up to get it free. can use wise grip to release screws to see inside, three red metal tabs wear down on three double tracks and loose contact, so it can not be started in neutral while rolling wich is bad , or backlight stops working . cant remember should sel be in n or p when removed.
Hi mate. Thanks for your previous advice. Just having difficulty with removing the linkage. There are one or two small square retaining clips at either end of the solid bar that come off, and then I believe you should just be able to lift off the linkage but mine is rock solid and not budging at all. Hope this makes sense. Can you help

Please help! Upon checking the manual, the winter mode shouldnt be activated as a normal shift and it should be smooth. What will be the problem?
Hi, Its hard to tell without seeing the vehicle but winter mode usually does not use first gear so it could be an issue with the solenoid or valve for first gear
Old750 my usual driving became - winter mode deactivated so that i can use the first to third gear then activate the winter mode so that it will run smoothly. If I did not use the winter mode, my max speed is 50kph and my rpm is very high and loud.
hey mate my combo vauxhall van has pulled gear leaves over to under 5th (instead of under 3rd. ) if I was to pull the gear leaves to the 5 mill hole and press the spring would it recanted or has something more physical happen ? 9

Andre Young Hi, If i remember correctly all Hyundai that I know of have cable operated gear shifts so will be completely different to this. I have no videos to show you how to do the cable type at the moment but you could try searching the Hyundai forums such as www.hyundai-forums.com/ or www.hyundaiperformance.com/ as I am sure they will have something to help. Hi, If it is the adjustable type just double check the length of the linkage bar is the same as the one you removed and then try going through the set up procedure again, sometimes things can move slightly when you are tightening everything up.
Success all working fine now,what i did realise tho is when you have to push the spring pin in the shaft that comes out the gear housing,it has to be in the middle position so it lines up with the middle position of the gearstick(neutral) its a little stiff at the mo but sure will bed in soon,thankyou so much for the video,saved me a fortune.
anyone no how to sort the Speedo cable .(gear box end. need help. Speedo is not working and I can pull the cable out more then I think I'm ment to. So I'm thinking it's not been fitted properly after the clutch was sorted. ???? plz help.

Mark Jobs Hi Mark, Yes that pin is a nightmare to remove sometimes, I ended up having to destroy the one in this video just to get it out. All I can say is in theory all you need to do is push in the springy bit of wire on the side near the bottom of the pin and pull the pin upwards and it should just come straight out. Some times it will and some times it wont and I'm afraid if it wont then its just going to be down to brute force to get it out. Good luck
Please can you help me. I have an Astra G and the Haynes manual says about changing the “linkage pin” to a new one when you install a new gear linkage. I think that pin has a small hook on the end. Did you change this?

The linkage is the same on the combo van. Try resetting it as in this video and see if it works.

It is recomended that you never reuse a split pin so for what they cost I would always replace it.
I did everything, still no reverse, what else?
