Stewie reminds me a lot of my BLM mustang. My Logan had known hard homes all through his life (He's 26 now), the cowboy who tried to "train" him said he was the rankest horse he'd ever encountered. He lives a quiet and peaceful life here with me; nobody will ever hurt my boy.
He may actually be worth the money. He is a tough, good looking horse. Some of my best horses have been tiny. My best horse of all time was a mare out of a Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse, by an Appaloosa. She was never over 13:2 and 720 lbs. She handled my weight better than the big horses I've had over the years. She was smooth gaited and fast, and would do absolutely anything from pulling a manure spreader to cultivating the garden, to pulling formal carriages, to herding cattle, to long trail rides, to skidding logs out of the woods. She was also incredibly kind and careful with even the smallest children. I would ten times rather have a horse like that than the most expensive Thoroughbred. She was active and useful up until her death at 28. Unfortunately, like Stewy, she had a heavy load of worms when I got her. She was prone to colic because of the damage they did, and colic is what finally got her. Her daughter lived to be 35 and never colicked once, but I never let her get that load of worms.
I'm a layman, but isn't it great luck to get a horse that's smart, can be by himself AND play with the herd, do silly endearing things and come running because he loves you? Stewy's a star. I needed a lift, and this video is it. Thanks for saving Stewy and I'm happy knowing he's in Montana being his Stewie self right this moment. More please. I don't know what your channel is about but you're awesome and I'm subscribing!
Back in the mid 1970s some Arabian breeding friends of mine rescued a colt something like this one. He was over a year old, WAY under weight and height for his age, full of worms, dull coat, and looked more like a weanling size. Anyhow, the horse had been gifted to the owner - she really hadn't wanted it, and just sent it to a boarding farm that had NO clue on how to feed him properly, or anything else ! So my friends offered to take the young colt off her hands. They worked very hard to bring him to his full potential, and due to his excellent Arabian breeding, he was eventually added to their breeding program as a stud. To see 'Abby' when they first got him - small, skinny and neglected - and to what he looked like about a year or so later, when he reached his full potential after being dewormed and fed all he needed to grow properly and into good health ? You'd never guess in a million years that he was the same colt ! He was just beautiful. :)
Spending all that money doesn't seem silly to me. I'm a person who spent $300 on vet care for a $5 rat. We can't always act according to our heads but according to our hearts. Killing these horses because no one wants them is unconscionable. Watching this little guy bloom under your kind and knowledgeable care is beyond touching. ❤
I am with you on that. I spent a fortune on my pet rat too. I have 11 cats, that found me and they live well. I am going to donate to Stewy's care. I raise my glass to your good decision to buy Stewy :)
It brakes my heart to know that horses are sent to slaughter. They have never been recognized for their immense contribution in settling the west, hauling equipment and soldiers during 2 world wars and showing true loyalty.I thank you for your compassion and respect for these beautiful and smart animals.God bless you always!

I adopted a 9-year-old dog no one wanted without even meeting her first. I wasn't even drunk, but her picture broke my heart. Best $250 (adoption fee) I ever spent. Another horse channel I watch thought they had lost the bid on a Clydesdale filly. The next day they get a call to say the bid winner had backed out because they didn't want to arrange next day transportation to their out of state home. I bet he's gonna be such a calm, reliable ride once he gets properly trained, and therefore hopefully great for children!
Another horse channel I watch thought they had lost the bid on a Clydesdale filly. The next day they get a call to say the bid winner had backed out because they didn't want to arrange next day transportation to their out of state home. They scooped her up happily and will pair with their male eventually learning to pull a wagon as a team. It was meant to be. So glad you honor your sales and your horses.
More Stewy please, your both so special...what a great match.Looking forward to all you two do.
