    Since the tripod never moved this would be a motion lapse instead of hyper lapse but still informative.

    Interesting tutorial Chris. I wonder if you can use other cameras but with the same intent. In all honesty I couldn't see the difference in the end result. It must be a photographers eye. I'm sure it;s there. All the best. Mark

      It just fits without any modification. The plate needs to go all the way back but it’s fine. I’ve had bigger lenses on there too, by either cheating with the plate and using just 1 screw, or by adding counterweights.

    I'm having trouble getting this to work. It seems like the gimbal is moving the camera out of sync with when the camera is actually taking the shots. Then once the ronin is done with the timelapse the sony a7 iii just keeps taking photos, and never finishes. Could this be because I ave autofocus on, or some other setting?

    • @chrishomer

    Hello, I have a question
    When shooting timelapse, do I set the settings on the ronin or the camera ? I'm confused with the settings on the camera itself, I'm talking about the intrval and how long, etc...

  • @CrispyJacketStudios

    #protip use manual exposure whenever possible to avoid potential flashes.
    Use the Timelapse function on dji then sync with camera (manual is fine for anything under 30 mins) just align settings on DJi to camera to avoid shakiness 🤙

    • @chrishomer
      @chrishomer  ปีที่แล้ว

      From memory, in this setup, it’s the app that controls the shutter. I leave the camera on single shot. 99% sure although it has been a few years since I used the SC

    Excellent video Chris thank you. looked like a slight improvement on the stabilised version especially when panning. I have been thinking about getting a gimbal but don't know if it would be a hassle when out and about. Do you use yours when you are vlogging a walk?

    • @chrishomer
      @chrishomer  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      AlexMPhotography. I have done, my Stiperstones video was done this way for example, but it’s a bit of a pain, not to mention heavy if you have an out stretched arm. Good for the bicep workout I suppose... 🤣. It is a hassle sometimes, for example if you get caught in rain, packing it away takes up a bit of space. As far as gimbals go it’s super easy compared to what they used to be like though so don’t let me put you off, and the stabilisation along with a good camera makes for some epic and crazy shots sometimes.

The movement of the gymble and the shutter is not synchronising properly. I would like to know if you faced the same problem, if u did how did you solved it. Hey so I’m considering getting a Sony RX 10 m iv on the weekend and from what I gather, it doesn’t have a time lapse feature in it. Now I own a ronin SC, therefore will I be able to execute time lapses with this set up?

    • @ChrisFarhi
      @ChrisFarhi 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use a Canon M6 Mark ii with this gimbal. I use the camera’s in-built time lapse function to create the video and the gimbal’s time lapse function to control the motion (you need to match the frame rate and duration in both devices, then trigger both to start at the same time). I haven’t been able to trigger a time lapse video using then gimbal’s app and don’t believe it actually does this anyway. From what I can tell with other cameras, the ronin app’s feature it looks like it might just take a series of photos that you then need to use software to stitch into the time lapse.
      @chris homer - when using your camera, does the running the dji app create a series of photos (eg 200 individual photos) or does it create the video itself?
