@@miraclewiley7126 🤣I should’ve started taking acting classes back then to hone my skills because I could’ve won an Oscar. Bad, I guess good, thing is that all of his baseball and soccer teams almost always made it to the playoffs so I was always driving to a practice, driving to a game or toting a chair onto a field. Looking back, though, those were some good times❤️
@tiffanyeason6009 Yessss. Don’t forget the bows for the hair, different colors for each uniform, different socks we had to buy in addition to the 5 uniforms for different seasons. She cheered basketball and football. They had homecoming, holidays 😂😂😂😂😂
Wait! They don’t supply the bat? Back in the day they did for my kid, but that was 20yrs ago & he was on a USCG base. Maybe it was a blessing that he stopped liking it bc he would’ve been upset playing on a regular team. I’m hella cheap, umm, I mean FRUGAL!
I can attest, baseball mom's live, breathe, and sleep baseball. If you have a job, then consider being a baseball mom overtime hours. It. Don't. Stop!! Your roles are parent, coach, cheerleader, and taxi driver. I almost cried when my son got his license; it felt like I got my freedom papers😂
"So it's no limit to how long we'll be out there" If this wasn't meeee! We just wrapped up my son's first season and after 14 games. Baby I am SPENT! I was not readyyy 😂
Comparing everything to the car note sounds like me comparing everything to à full tank of gas‽ I hear myself say "You know that's a full tank of gas? Like why¿ " 😂
Baseball is for rich people. Expensive bats, gloves, and bags. No clock so no time limit on games. 2-3 games per week plus practice. All-Star games across the region so more travel and entry fees.
Dance classes are a rich people thing too these days. I wanted to get back into that as an adult but nah. Makeup, costumes/outfit changes, expensive shoes, a nice bag or bags to carry it in, cost of classes, hairdo (has to be a certain way), need a good sturdy bottle or cup if not 2 (and probably metal because it keeps water and other beverages cold),cost of classes, travel costs, takes up tons of time, have to have excellent health insurance in case of injuries. All of this for dancers that aren't getting paid. The "paid" dancers at my former academy travel and basically its like a part time job.
Baby I just left my niece dance recital and saw a family leave for the baseball game soon as little sis came off that stage. Two boys had on their uniforms and it just looked expensive. Looks like everyone is in for a long day at the field. 🥵
Gurl! I was a soccer mom. And let me tell you, after the first season I was so over it. And when she exclaimed how much she LOVED it and wanted to keep on keeping on… I just was like oh, wow. Half my life was spent on a soccer field somewhere (travel). Good thing I gave my life to YAH, cuz dating wasn’t happening! The fees, aggressive and inebriated soccer moms, the Florida heat, the rain season, the fees, the WINS, the team building, the hotels, the driving all over the tri-county area, the fees. I was so glad when she reached high school and it became more cut throat and competitive that she decided it wasn’t for her anymore! Cuz lemme tell ya, I needed to save for college and something had to give. Pretty much in scrubs all season because I literally went to the field straight from work. And the weekends?! The WHOLE weekend. I loved seeing her out there though, but I was glad when it was over. I didn’t think she would play for so long. She started at 6 and finished travel soccer when she reached high school. From there she just played for her school team. But that was a relief because it was just a season and not darn near year round.
You go off east my son played through college. During high school he was on the academy team. He couldn’t play school ball FIFA wasn’t having it risking injury. During the summer they sent him to Spain for training or sometimes London it all depends. The amount of money we spent was ridiculous. However, it pay off because college was a full ride now he has a great job living in Europe.
@@toyam5730 Glad for you! Yes, least it paid off in the end. My daughter knew that she wasn’t getting an athletic scholarship, but she did get Bright Futures scholarship, and full ride scholarships from 3 other Universities. She chose to stay here in Florida (UF thank goodness)!

YES!! So true. One nephew who was a great baseball player and a mediocre football player gave up baseball because, and I quote, "Ain't no girls coming to no baseball games!"😂😂😂 But the expense and the lack of seeing other brown people does discourage our boys from continuing.
straight facts. My oldest son did indoor & outdoor. He was in 3 event’s & of course they weren’t back to back It was common to leave indoor meets at midnight- it started at 4pm🤦🏽♀️
If this ain't my LIFE times two! 2 boys nine and seven, both in baseball at the same...damn... time!! Don't forget about dugout duties for Dad and Mom having to do team mom stuff. Too much! Lol!
The boys are merciless in that dugout...and the attention span of a mosquito. You gotta WORK when you in there...keeping them on schedule, rooting for your child and watching your mouth! I'll look fondly back on it one day...
This Here was me. This was our first year at baseball and baby!! Let me tell you. Ya girl didn't know a glove could cost so much. And yes why is this $300. And he needs a special bag. So we can't just use his bookbag. I now know
May God forgive my sins. My kids weren't in any clubs because I wasn't going to be driving up and down (one in elementary the other highschool). Plus my weekends were not available, cause I be tired. 🤷🏿♀️
Mom was like that with us ..when the coach asked me to play football even came out to the house ..my mom called my grandma to help us to see why I wasn't going to play ..lol now but back then I didn't 😂😂😂😂 moms need time to sit if they want too
I somewhat remember softball being way more expensive than basketball. But that's partly because of the type of bat I asked my dad for and I dont even remember what it was. Lol. I ended up donating all my stuff to a young lady after I graduated.
Lord this was my life for 8 years and it's starting back up this fall. Goodbye free time, laundry detergent, stocked pantry and money. I don't want em to lose...but my baby always a winner to me.😆
Hahaha!!! I am dying laughing! My husband and I just had a similar convo on why we aren't doing organized sports....we like the freedom to do our own thang waaay better. He used to play basketball in school (and still plays for fun), so now he can teach the kiddos for free, lol.
Girl, so true..i finally have a summer inside this year and can finally enjoy most of the summer, plus save some money..neither one of my boys wanted to play baseball this summer, after 9 years!!!!!!!
Oooweee!! The tournaments!! My son in little league football. I swear I was praising Gawd when they lost and we could go home. Forgive me, but tuh!! They would win most of the time. 😅😢
Just purchased some gear for my son to play baseball and it was over 1k and he still needs a few more items and I’m completely over and he hasn’t started yet.
I remember these days. My kids played so many sports - Track, softball, soccer, basketball, tennis, cheerleading, volleyball, swimming and even jujitsu from age 3-17. Whatever sport was in season they tried it. At least once. So glad they’re grown and those days are long behind me.
