    This has to be one of your best videos. Just a solid, mechanical beauty working nearly like the day it was made. I have a 1926 Corona 4 myself. It works perfectly, but could use a new platen, feed rollers, and feet. The print quality is far better than any of my later coronas, especially the 5 series machines. It has the case as well as the spool covers and 1 original spool. It is excellent. One of my favorites second to my 1965 Facit Tp2.

    • @dr.typewriter-venneburgtyp121
      @dr.typewriter-venneburgtyp121  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It is not uncommon for these machines to require new rubber. This being such an example. However, there are companies out there that can facilitate the job. Should you wish to invest in a nice platen, I'd advice you to get in touch with J.J. Short Associates. Thank you for your compliment.

      You're welcome. I have been collecting typewriters for some time now, I really like the machines of the 1920's and 30's. I got a 1919 Underwood 5 as my oldest. To be honest, I like all of your videos, especially the ones where you type on the hermes baby/rocket and Olivetti (Tropical?)

    I just purchased one of these on ebay for a friend who passed his US citizenship test! I'm so excited to give it to him. He likes to write screen plays in his free time and has expressed the want for one. The listing said everything is in working order but is there anything I should look out for or expect when it arrives? The listing also included a picture of paper with all the characters typed on it so that has me really hopeful! I know nothing about these machines though. Should I expect it to just work or will I need one of those ink wheel things? Thanks for answering if you take the time! Your typing skills are mesmerizing lol

    I got into typewriters literally about a week ago, and bought an SC Corsair Deluxe. Today, the mailman delivered a Royal Custom 1967(?) that I ordered. By Friday next week, I should also have an old SC Skywriter & Zephyr...possibly also a Royal Dart and a Royal Quiet Deluxe, but those two are still being bid on.
    You might say I'm kinda very quickly becoming obsessed..... (: With both the sound and application of them(I used to love poetry, and have dipped back in lately), and the general vintage surrounding them.
    I found a something listed as a Corona Four for sale for just $15, that looked to be in fair enough condition for something as old as it might be (just missing the '1' key, supposedly, and looking a bit rusty) but the top part of the body is flat..... I only saw two of that style on the typewriter DB, from 1927. Would you happen to know if those are legitimate? Or am I possibly seeing something incorrectly listed?
    Your typing looks fluid, by the way. It's rather awesome to watch. (:

      Wow, you're jumping straight into the deep-end. Once you start, there ain't no turning back. ;) Typewriters are wonderful. They are a gateway to creativity, art and emotion. I am glad you joined the madness. Enjoy everything that comes your way. A flat Corona Four is relatively rare. A good friend of mine has one.
      Thank you for your compliments and nabbing your seat in the Typosphere!!
