- In this video I did end up opening the 1975 rack pack that I had mentioned in a previous video. Hard to do since it is 45 years old; but packs are fun to open. I have opened older packs before, but those were the non-factory Christmas Racks. Hope you enjoy looking through this neat 1975 pack with me.
Id love to have my cards again. Loat em in a fire in 2015. Lost my wife as well. Raising our boys now hard to find the extra money to start collecting again. Awesome Brett!!
The silence is deafening. Lol
Finally found another person who opened a 75 pack and nabbed a George Brett rookie. I opened a mini pack from BBCE back in 2012 and pulled a Brett that ended up getting a psa 7 oc
Fantastic opening! A great Brett hit. Even though it's oc, it's still amazing to see it like somebody 45 years ago would've seen!
Of course the Brett card just has to be off centered ! Oh well, still a great pull !!
Love it. Lost my Brett yrs ago in a fire 😢
Great video! 75 topps is one of my favorite designs by far
Good year! Year I was born!
I always penny sleeve into a top loader.
This set really grew on me after picking up some super high grade commons. The colors are just great.
Thanks for sharing....I would put the cards in sleeves before top loading them ...75 was tough in centering .....Brett rookie nice card ....to bad so far off centered ...
You are a bold man opening this up......my favorite boyhood set (I remember getting these rack packs at my local Ben Franklin). I have upgraded this set now in adulthood, and derive a lot of joy from this collection of memories.
Great and interesting video. I'm subscribed and looking forward to watching more rips!!
I found it!!! Holy cow! A pack fresh Brett!! Amazing!!! Thanks for showing this. Don’t even care if it’s off center. There are some really nice other cards in this too! I’ll have to search to see if you sent any of for grading.
Also, the guy on next to last card always cracks me up! Possible best name ever.
GREAT pack! Wish the Brett was centered tho.
I lived in Michigan and in these packs we had these cards in "Minis" mixed with full size. They were mostly the mini size. I sold in 2008 two Mini George Brett rookies for $500 each and a Robin Yount for $300. Sold a mini Nolan Ryan for $100. Wish i still had them today!!!
When I was 11 years old, I remember clearly visiting my uncle in Upstate N.Y. and I had my mom buy me lords knows how many rack packs. seems like it was yesterday. If we only knew what we know now.
Id like to know when all these old packs are finally gone? Seems someone always has an unopened somewhere...
Great channel, just subscribed. Happy New Year!
Ouch. Yeah I’d be numbed a bit too. 71 and 75. Such hard years with centering. Thanks for videotaping this. 👍🏼
That was amazing, thank you for sharing this!
Fun pack! Such a bummer that Topps quality control was so bad. But the Carlton looks good and the Brett is still neat! Thanks ENN
You pulled the 1 Homer every 110 ABs son of Peter Marshall, Ralph Pierre LaCock! I really liked the Pitching Guru, Brent Strom as well ... GREAT VIDEO!
Pulling Brett would be the only fiscal justification to crack open that relic, and you did- congratulations! Awesome watching a pack fresh 75,Brett RC being pulled. Razor sharp corners. Thanks for sharing your ride in that time machine!
Yount
Actually, I said Brett emotionally because he’s my favorite player. The reality is one can buy both a PSA 8 Brett and Yount together for less than a unopened 1975 rack pack on EBay.
@@commentingcollector true, 1200 or less for both of the 2 in 8's, both 9 times more valuable in a 9, 10's are impossible and quiet valuable, 250 grand for both in 10's. He said He had several of those packs, so why not take a chance.
Right- if playing the lottery is The owners jam I can’t begrudge anyone that- have a good one.
Great opening. Pretty sweet you got a Brett rookie. I’d put a penny sleeve on before putting them in card savers. Card savers tend to take the gloss off cards if there’s no penny sleeve.
thanks for the tip! i usually penny sleeve before putting in the card saver when submitting to PSA. i just wanted to quickly get that in something before my clumsiness dinged it! thank you again ! Phil
I think that's a farce
Card Savers take the gloss off of cards? Come on
Incredible rip! I probably would have sold the rack but I'm glad you opened this
The deafening is silence
I don’t know how I missed this video. Be as it may. The Brett pull was wonderful to see. Such a shame about the centering. It was obviously a bad sheet. The Perez was beautiful with pretty good centering for that year. I love the Al Oliver card. Overall, just a really nice opening and one that you never ever see. Thank you for sharing!
Awesome cards and video my friend.
I love those cards !!
Back to back Hall of Fame afros with Jose Cardenal and Oscar Gamble.
Nice bust I've always had a thing for '75 especially the Reds and Red Sox.
Are you looking for anything in the regular size not the small. I have 1 extra Lynn rookie pack fresh in a 7, 8 or 9 also Seaver, Rose, Blue, Cedeno etc... Let me know. The 2 big boys I've never caught a good one like your rip to pop sides on those. Again nice rip. I also get nervous when opening old cards. Just ripped a pack of '57 and all I got was a Billy Martin.
The set that started it all for me. 1975 was the year that I started collecting baseball cards. Noticed all the WS cards you got had a 3-2 score.
Use some penny sleeves man!!
You hit a George Brett rookie and say nothing but you drone on at the beginning of the video why you like the color patterns on the cards. I also love the 1975 set and Green and purple bottom is AWESOME!!!
8:05 Holding that Gene Locklear still, I was like wtf grab that Brett man
The 75 set was the hardest one ever to get good centering.
they really need to come up with something different than those cardsavers to send to PSA. those cardsavers can do some damage to the corners and top to push the card in.
Nice
Huge hit there! Opening older wax is always tough!
I was about to freak out if you hadn't put Brett in a sleeve. Lol
Beautiful cards but badly cut. The Brett was cool even as off center as it is. Just fantastic cards for any collector! Thanks 😊😊😊😊😊😊
1975 was the first cards I bought as a kid. I got $1 a week allowance and bought six 15-cent packs at the store 2 miles away.
I now have complete higher grade sets of 1975 Topps, 1975 O-pee-chee and 1975 Topps Mini. I like the All Star cards in red and yellow. Rod Carew was my favorite player of all time.
I still have the Rod Carew card I bought in 1975. It is in Poor condition, but my complete sets are very sharp.
My first year too. I was only five and six but I bought every time I saw my grandpa and he gave me a quarter. Had 120 plus from 1975 alone.
If the George Brett had the centering of card # 343, Danny Frisella had, I would have sent U $20 to get it Graded!! 👌👌
Nice! Great pull with the Brett rookie. That centering was horrible! Right when I saw it I was like, “Oh no!”. Like you said almost the whole thing was poorly cut. Anyway, you still did well! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Scott !! It was fun to open (and nerve wracking!). I coulda sold the pack on ebay for about $1200. But heck i only paid about $150 about 10 years ago, and when i bought it, had intended on opening it. I may get the Brett graded. I usually say "no qualifiers" when I submit to PSA. But if I do that, it may get only a PSA 5. So i may do it with qualifiers, and maybe it gets a PSA 8 MC (miscut qualifier) or PSA 8 OC (off center qualifier). Should get a couple of PSA orders back about the time you guys get out here. you can help with the videos of the grading reveals.
You'd think Topps would have figured out its centering problems by 1975.
This is the second video I’ve seen where Steve Carlton comes after George Brett! Jose Cardinal in the same pack!
shame the Brett is Miscut. I have a 71 Rose that's cut like that super nice card too
damn, that Brett's extremely rough right out of the pack, lucky to get a 4 or 5 out of it if graded, probably get miscut or OC, the 75 mini were way more off center than those full size cards, but that one is really OC, almost cut off on the back, damn shame, but nobody would send that card in for grading ever, anyway. Still a nice pull.
Bought one of these at a Card Show in San Francisco about 25 years ago…at the time it cost a “whopping” $10…best cards in the rack were a Carl Yastrzemski and a Johnny Bench…no George Brett or Robin Yount rookies…but still, pretty damned good
That entire 3rd cell had the worst centering, of course that is a standard problem back then is entire stacks, entire cello packs and even wax packs, they all centered, print dottted et al, together
How did you get this rack pack? I see people on the internet selling individual card spots for like 70 bucks which seems like highway robbery, since chances of pulling Brett or Carlton is very small. Great pack and video!
nice
You don't use penny sleeves
Holy cow! Look at the afro's...lol
Nice brett rc but the off centering is too bad but nevertheless it’s a frikin George Brett rc in a rack pack. That’s cool stuff
Cool to see that opened. The Brett made me feel bad, but I guess you could've got the qualifier for it. Honestly, I don't think centering should have as much impact as it does. That is how it left the factory. It isn't damage. Comic grading makes more sense to me. Its much more forgiving than card grading.
You got a lot of off-center cards.
Should have kept the rack pack sealed!
I have others. I had bought all of them with the intention of opening, but never did as values went up. Had to treat myself to one :)
Easy to say after the fact. Let him enjoy it and do what he wants. They're his packs... not yours!
Randy Moffitt, brother to Billie Jean King.
Definitely one of my favorite sets!! Love that Oscar Gamble! OMG George Brett RC!!!!
He got Randy Moffitt, Billie Jean King's younger brother. 👍
And Pete LaCock is the son of Peter Marshall, who was the host of Hollywood Squares.
Funny to think that these 42 cards cost 49 cents. So, barely more than a penny for each card.
My favorite set besides81
Wow i hated seeing you push in the bottom of the Brett rookie. Sorry for the bad luck.
George Brett rookie card!!! :)
Robin Yount rookie card as well
Remember the packs of cards that comes with a piece of chalky ass bubblegum? They still Sell those 🤔 if they do should buy a pack and record yourself chewing it lol
and i used to like the taste of those ! i'd buy a whole box of like 1985 topps as a kid and pretty much cram 1/3 of the box worth of gum into my mouth at a time. i'd have to keep adding sticks of gum to it because the flavor last only about 142 seconds each! Still have vivid memories of spreading out all the packs and opening all in one afternoon. back then the box was like all of $14 !! some people have taken the old gum eating challenge and gotten way sick! on some 1970s packs i have opened, it has eaten through the top two cards like a chunk of sulfuric acid. yikes !
Beautiful card too bad the centering is so bad
Dont be surprised if you buy a bunch of 1975 cards and end up with a few heritage in the Frey. I don't like those cards at all!
You got obliterated
Quit yakking and open up the pack!!!!!! Less yakking and more openings of baseball packs, thank u!!!
Your not talking much if you call out the names....
Sorry I have to unsubscribe had horrible vision impairment but the beginning of the video though but if I don’t know what the cards are at snow and I meant thanks
You pull an off center Brett but don’t show any excitement. Ur not very good doing this narration. Many of us don’t know what’s good. You should talk. Lol
75 had to be the ugliest Topps card ever but I will agree there are some color schemes that were pretty good but gosh most of them are ugly
ONLY your opinion! It's one of the most popular Topps vintage sets.
Dude, can u take any longer,it's only cards
Who cares about the back
Your showing the cards is painfully slow.
