This was recorded at the end of a two hour concert of her regular stuff, so I’d be inclined to cut her a little slack for being a little hoarse. If you want impressive, I strongly suggest that you look at every single woman who has ever or will ever perform the role of Christine and the Phantom of the opera, and who has to hit that insanely high note at the end of the title song night after night after night after night eight times a week if not more that is impressive this is a party trick.oh and if your wondering what crazy high-note I’mm talking about, its an e-6
Quite nice for a folksy rock singer singing totally outside her wheelhouse. She'll never be a Renee Fleming or Joyce DiDonato, but she has no reason to be embarrassed by her effort.
Thank you I noticed that she took breasts where they didn’t need to be but then she does that in every single song she sings. It’s like she can’t complete a phrase and it’s frightening.
Well, I’m thinking of it if she was smart she would’ve done this at the beginning of her program while she was still in good voice not waited 2 1/2 hours when her voice was shot.

According to her biography on Wikipedia, she went there specifically to study operatic voice. I think you opera/classical music snobs should calm down a little bit and give her a break. It’s obvious that she hasn’t had a lot of practice singing in that style for many years, as she’s a contemporary singer. Some rustiness is to be expected.

Exactly thank you and what’s interesting is you don’t have to be classically trained to notice that stuff I’m not classically trained and I noticed it in five seconds and then you got all these people saying she did great she did great and I’m just sitting here thinking are we listening to the same thing because I don’t think so.
