Very sad to see the pier decay so badly. I loved going there to the cafe, car museum and penny arcade in the 1980's... when it was still lovely.. how on earth can the owners have let this happen. They should be made to repair it all. They are accountable surely. Even the lifeboats had to be moved. Shameful.
It's now owned as of yesterday by Somerset council and will be restored
I am so glad that there are people still around to tell us what the Pier's purpose was and the stories that go with it.
One of the best parts of living is Weston Super Mare. This historical pier is 5 minutes away from my home.

Waste billions on HS2 and this is left to rot.
I am living here in the San Francisco Bay area, and it reminds me of places here. I would love to see it rebuilt.

I wonder how much it would cost to make it safe for people to walk across.the bridge
Its now 2021 and still nothing it sadly will just fall into sea
