- Raido was a Special Jonin from the Leaf Village, a Hokage bodyguard trained by Minato, and Konoha's deadliest assassin. He had a curious scar on his face. Who gave Raido his scars? We see Raido in the Akatsuki Suppression Arc fighting against Kakuzu along side Aoba and his crows.
We also see Raido in Naruto Part 1 fighting in the Konoha Crush Arc and in the Sasuke Retrieval Arc against the Sound 4 alongsde Genma. Raido also appeared in the Naruto Warc Arc fighting alongside Mei, the 5th Mizukage against Black Zetsu.

No way, Kakuzu is the strongest member of the akatsuki with his RAW DURABILITY, he even deafeted Hashirama and only failed to kill him when Hikaku Uchiha, the strongest Uchiha of all time, intervined, and Hikaku despite besting Kakuzu said that it was one of the hardest fights of his life
Where is it ever stated that Special Jonin are ninja who, rather than all-around jōnin training, have Jōnin-level ability in a single area or skill....

Minato is a one-man army who doesn’t need bodyguards. The last platoon of Stone shinobis in Kakashi Gaiden were wiped out by Minato in a blink of an eye.

Am i the only one who would be way into a spin off about the leaf chunin/special jonin? Like fights could still be bad ass without everyone being god level
I don't think the show would work quite as well without really strong over the top protagonists doing really important stuff, but I kind of agree that it would be interesting to see a spinoff that has the vibe of early Naruto more than late Naruto. Also gives the Anbu the chance to actually do something more than just embarass themselves.
The fights would lean more towards part 1 Naruto. It could be a refreshing thing if it is done properly.
@@jpcsdutrayou have better fights when it’s not just super crazy attacks every two seconds and you feel the stacks more when it’s like saving a small fishing village or killing a bankster who is keeping a towns savings hostage
I feel we got something sorta like this at the end of the Naruto anime with the adaptation of Shikamaru's LN. Would love to see small stories like that to flesh out the world and give some depth to side characters. Ideally it should be integrated into the main stories but getting some more spin-offs could be nice too.
They def should have expanded more into the Ninja universe in general with other spin offs. Naruto is so great but the characters got so strong that its not even Ninja shit anymore lol. The storytelling + animation and fights could be equally good if they had more spin offs

Small point to make. 3rd Raikage couldn’t hide his scar because while others knew it was his greatest his shame, they also assumed it was because he only TIED in DKO with the 8tails which is an incredible feat.
Kishimoto had the opportunity to elaborate on the fight between Genma/Raido and the sound 4. They had to use their curse marks even tho it was 4 of them so they had to be strong.

I think the fact raido has a scar as an adult and wore a bandage there means he may have gotten it due to wearing that cloth bandage over his nose. Perhaps maybe he blocked a fire jutsu close to his face and it got set on fire

I’m not 100% sure Kakazus lives work the way you said… he still needs his brain in order to ‘revolve’ his hearts, because the mind controls everything. So if he went for the face and hit his brain, wouldn’t that have been an instant death?

I'm not sure that he even has a brain in the traditional sense. It seems implied that his entire body is made up of those black threads except his skin and hearts. If he wasn't hardened when Raido struck him, I imagine that his head would've been cut in half, but the threads would have pulled it back together. Similar to when Orochimaru was bisected by 4-tails Naruto.
Does kakuzu even bleed?
@@VivixenvVT - Well, you do remember that Shikamaru stole his blood so he could use it on Hidan's special attack? Kakuzu bleeds and probably has normal body parts (like a brain), he just has a bunch of black threads among them.

Raido may be very deadly, but not as deadly as Hikaku Uchiha, the strongest Uchiha of all time, who single-handedly lead a campaign against the Yamanaka, Nara, Akimichi and Sarutobi clans and deafeted them all, even the menacing leader of the Sarutobi Clan, Sasuke Sarutobi

His "scar" looks like the veins the Hyuga have around their eyes when they activate the Byakugan.
I wish Kishimoto took these side characters more into account and developed them a bit more into being badasses instead of getting one shotted by the dumbest shit.
Characters like Raido, Aoba, Genma, Hayate deserved more development since they were part of the previous elite class with Kakashi, Guy, Kurenai, Asuma, Ibiki, Anko, Rin and Obito.
His face ABSORBED that bandage as a Chuunin because of an enemy attack, and ever since then, he embraces it.

Pakura of the Scorch Style, the deadliest kunoichi of the Sand who is also the “Hero of the Sand”, and Gari of the Explosion Style who is part of the Stone’s Explosion Corp like Deidara. One of the best parts about the war arc is the addition of these new characters which adds lore to their respective village.
When i started watching Naruto i always thought Raido was cool and eventually me and my homies used to joke that he was sandbagging and was secretly the leader of the Akatsuki. Thanks for giving my boy a whole video 😂

It could be from the Databook 1 which explained the ranks or world building. There are also anime fanbook which are official sources.
Special Jounin is between Chunin and Jounin and they can officially also handle Genin. Most SJ entries also has 1 specific specialty like Raido as best assassin, Ebisu as training elite ninja, etc. so that is where this is based from. Jounin also requires 2 nature affinity at minimum. So the 4 popular Jounin like Kakashi, Guy, Asuma & Kurenai had those.

It's stated in the anime that special Jonin are elite jonin teachers, but it doesn't say anything about them not having all around Jonin level abilities...
If anything its implied that special Jonin have all around Jonin abilities AND they specialize in something specific...

Boruto is a great series and doesn't ruin any pre-established characters, well, maybe Anko, she's not hot anymore, but living her best life so I can't complain much.
All these characters still have more screen time than Tenten.
Tenten has plenty of screen time during the war arc with her using the Bashosen Fan to wipe out Kakuzu’s masked summons
