    We have used the th-cam.com/users/postUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y for probably 30 hours with our camper and it’s been great! The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!

    Great video. Mine was also only running with the choke on. Bought some new gaskets, cleaned it all according to your video and it started right up👍 I was so happy to find your video after a note was left on my door late last night, that my power would be off for the day due to a elec. pole exchange. I couldn’t find anyone that could clean the carb today, so I did it myself. Now I can run my fridge tomorrow. Not bad for a 67 yo woman! Thank you

    For those who don't know, the long tube is under the main jet screw. Tap on the side of the carb extension you removed the screw from with a screwdriver handle and it will fall out.

    Holy smokes, this young man's video is fantastic. Step by step, clear illustrations, clear instructions. I've never cleaned out a carburetor before, never taken one apart. I was able to do it, at my slow pace, within an hour. Make sure you have the carburetor gaskets, kit, et cetera because mine had to be replaced for sure. I can not thank this guy enough. Absolutely amazing.

    Kinda helpful video...obviously the mechanic is very knowledgeable about this generator. The camera operator on the other hand...whew! Maybe if they stood further back we could see the factory in Japan. We can’t see through fingers, and we can’t see the removal of the jets, arguably the most important step. Also, zipped by the exact location to aim carb cleaner at the carb. Between squinting to see the tiny carb in hand and trying for x-ray vision to see through fingers and arms...er....

    I learned an important lesson, spend plenty of time with the carb cleaner, particularly with the 4 openings in the body of the carb. It took a number of cleanings to get those as clean as needed.
    Great video very helpful

    Saved me a ton of money doing this myself, and it was even fun. My first carb job. Still might have to replace the main jet as the choke needs to be on but that will be easy now!

    Thank you so very much. I had bought this generator and after just 15 hours use, stored it away. Just 3 months later, the Honda EU2000i would not start. Everyone here wants hundreds to fix this generator but no one was able to even look at mine in a timely manner. Thanks to this video, I managed to clean the varnish from my Carb and it is working great again.

    Awesome instructions, thank you! I am a total mechanical moron and you made this look so easy and explained each piece so well it gave me enough confidence I was able to clean up the carb on my unit that had sat for two years. I put it back together and it started on the second pull and runs better than it ever did before. Thanks for the tip in the comments about removing the jet tube as well, I had to ease it out with a screwdriver as suggested.

      The only corner I had to cut was the bowl gasket. No one local has one and I needed to take a chance and reassemble due to potential power failure and a basement sump pump.
      No leaks, but I did order and will replace in a couple days.

    The most important part you missed is to remove and clean the pilot jet under the idle screw, the hole is so tiny you can hardly see it , tiny hole is easiest to clog, much smaller than a wire brush bristle, replace is best

I did not remove the electronic control wires, the wires are long enough to do the job connected. Now I will drain the carb. bowl by loosening up the drain plug before storing the generator.

    Very good idea. Followed you step-by-step until you removed the main jet. Took awhile to figure out what you had actually done with that step. As it was, we weren't able to undo that screw down inside the tube. Thought we might strip it by mistake. So we didn't go any further. Plus we need to buy some replacement parts before we try again. This is one of the most reliable easiest to maintain generator out there. Mine is 21 years old and works perfect. Whenever I’m don’t with it and ready to store it I just run tru fuel through the last tank and spray fogging oil in the cylinder. Mine was stored for 5 years the last time. I just pulled it out put fuel in it and a couple of pulls to get the gas through and it started right up and ran perfect. It’s all about maintenance.

    Thanks for the great video. One thing that gets glossed over is the removal and replacement of the inner fuel jet located under the jet screw. Mine doesn't want to come out!

    • @weingartz
      @weingartz  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If the emulsion tube is stuck, it is mostly due to varnish. You will need to soak the carburetor in carburetor cleaner for a couple hours and use a small flat head screwdriver to try and push the tube down and out of the carburetor. If you are still unable to get it out you may have to replace the carburetor. If you have more questions or concerns please feel free to let us know. You may also call our store to speak with someone directly. weingartz.com/locations

    I wanted to thank you for this video. Last year took my machine to a small engine repair shop. Said I needed a new carb. Had about 10 hours on machine. Said they didn't have a rebuild kit. $140 for a new carb and $60 to install. I'm feeling pretty stupid now. Watched your video a few times and 30 minutes later, she's purring like a kitten. I've always run ethanol few fuel in it. How could Honda ever put out a machine so prone to this. You need to come up with a fix.

      The permanent solution I added the tri fuel conversion kit on my Honda 1000 and Honda 2200. I bought both new and no gasoline only propane. Down side you loose about 10% power using propane 900 and 2000 watts max. Running propane cleaner, no fouling spark plug or engine, no dirty oil, no cleaning carb or spark arrestor. Engines on propane or natural gas lasts longer and less maintained. On propane or natural gas no carb problems or treating fuel.

    I’ve only done a few of these generators, guess I’ve been lucky, I’m able to reuse all my gaskets including the o-ring. The one thing one doesn’t want to do is get carb cleaner on the o-ring or other gaskets, it will distort them. I’ve heard gasoline can do it too. Carb cleaner is good on the jets and emulsifier, metal parts such as that. The o-ring will stretch. Not all is lost, if you did this, clean off whatever fluid you used, let it dry out, it should shrink back down to size. If it is still stretched, I’ve heard others putting o -rings in freezer for a few hours. O-rings are hell to find local repair shops stocking this, although you might try taking it to an auto parts store, they usually carry lots of o-rings. Ordering online often takes several weeks before they ship, and usually nobody wants to sell you just one o-ring, without hitting you on shipping or seeking you a bowl with it, and other gaskets. Please do yourself a favor and don’t get carb cleaner or immerse in gasoline on o-ring and other gaskets. It’s okay once you put back together, gasoline isn’t exposed to entire surface to distort such gaskets then. Best of luck.

    Just cleaned mine and it runs well. The carb parts add up in a hurry - I wanted all the gaskets, a float needle, a main jet, and the main tube. Roughly $55, against a whole new carb at roughly $125.
    Which main jet is the standard one - 58,60,or 62? Mine is the EU2000i A/B variant.

    Thank you! Great video except one thing. Might want to go back and explain that the main jet is below the pilot jet and you can push it out from the inside of the main throttle body. Thanks again. Mine is back to 100%

    Good stuff. I guess the row vinyl hoses with a y connector just sit in the bottom of generator housing as I can’t see anywhere they might attach on outboard end?.

    Thank you for this post. Now my problem. I bought a replacement carb. The new one has the same hose configuration as yours. my old one doesn't have the extra two hoses that yours do. (the two clear hoses that join into one) not the fuel drain line. Do I just let them hang? I didn't see in the vid where you connected them.

    This is actually very helpful but I need the kit, any honda dealer that carries this generator should have the carb kit or able to order one. Along with that i would also change the oil. These are the best generators in the world in my opinion. Basically light, really misers on fuel and the econo throttle increases or decreases according to demand. Great generators.

    I would also like a list of parts you recommended replacing. I noticed you guys are able to reply to many post, but not to the ones requesting a list of part numbers. It might even be a good idea to just post a link to purchase. Otherwise the video was very helpful. Just as stated, the gasket around the flow bowl warped, and now not sure how to get another one.

    Fantastic video. Only 1 criticism...when reassembling 'you are going to want to know how this came out of the carb.." Which you proceed to hide the orientation or comment on which end goes in first. Of course I did not note which way it came out....

    I had a problem taking tge long tube jet out after removing the bowl and big jet in bottom. Is there an easy way? I taped it gently but it wouldn't come out. I'm sure holes are partly plugged. Need to run a wire through these holes!

    Hi Tom, great video! I have an issue I can't seem to fix regarding the float bowl and the seal ring. It just will not seal and drips gas. I've replace the seal ($13 ouch!) and it still drips gas when started. I tried tightening the screw really (really) tight as well as leaving it just snug tight... still drips. It's almost like the bowl is "out of round". Is this possible? Any fix ideas? Thank you!

    • @weingartz
      @weingartz  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jason. There are 2 sides of the the float bowl gasket. Make sure the round side of the float bowl gasket is inserted into the carburetor and that the bowl is centered in the carburetor body. It is possible that the float bowl was damaged during tightening.
      Please be aware that generator models EB2800i and EG2800i were recalled due to a carburetor fuel leak issue.

      Hi, Jason:
      Thanks for your question. There are actually several variations of this particular generator, so there are many part numbers out there depending on which one you have. The most common numbers would be 16010-ZM7-D01 (gasket set) and 16011-ZE0-005 (valve set, float), but to better pinpoint the exact parts for your generator, please call us at 855-669-7278 , and a parts representative will be happy to help you find exactly what you need. Thanks!

    Hey man, your instructions are great; but I came to this video to see about putting the main jet back in. You say it’s important to know how it goes in, but there is zero quality from the camera operator showing that. I’m glad this video helped some people, but it sort of renders the video useless to some without that details.

    • @weingartz
      @weingartz  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching. There are various items to check on generators based on the brand, make and model. However, you can start with the basics: Is the switch and gas valve on? Is the generator filled with oil? Some generators shut off when the oil level is low for safety. If the generator electric start? If so, has it been cranking over? Have you replaced the spark plug? Has the generator been recently used or has it been sitting for a while? If it's been sitting for a while it might have old gas. Additionally, if it has been sitting for a while it will need to be serviced. You can bring your generator to us or take it to your local dealer.

    Hi, I have this generator and it's been sitting for several years (with gas in it). I started it today and it started beautifully, BUT there is gasoline running out the bottom. I took the cover off and it appears there is a hose on the carburetor that isn't attached. It's located on the right side but out of reach unless you take the air cleaner off. Is this hose supposed to be unattached? I tried to see it in your video but couldn't quite tell for sure. Thanks! Sharon

    At 7:56 you say "you want to note how the nozzle came out" Then your hand blocks how you put it back in. Mine fell out so I now have no idea which way it goes back in. Otherwise it's a very useful video. I just don't know which way my nozzle goes back in.
