People aren't aware of this man 's existences like Christopher Nolan, Michael Bay or Steven Spielberg. Yet this man has made masterpieces that heavily influence the pop culture.
One of the most overlooked, underrated filmmakers of our time. And Bao is brilliant. Highly recommend seeing Incredibles 2 on the big screen as it's the only chance you'll get to see Bao on that scale (plus Incredibles 2 is really good).
gotaminutereviews Underrated? With the otherwise rare exception of “Tomorrowland” (2015 film), Brad Bird has a VERY well celebrated filmography, so far! And he’s among the best filmmakers working in Hollywood today!
@@arturocastroverde3349 I'm willing to bet the vast majority don't know the man behind ratatouille is the same man behind the Incredibles. That to me means he's underrated, the majority know and love his movies but they don't know him.
Excellent interview. Future animators, listen to this guy! Animation is all about constantly bringing everything you know in life to the craft to turn it into an art.
After so many Simpsons commentaries and Al Jean etc. pointing out "Brad Bird helped on this sequence", just recently I watched his Mission Impossible. That movie is loaded with awesome camera moves and sequences. A prime example of an expert visual thinker with a vision. I heart Brad Bird.
Thoroughly enjoyed this in-depth discussion on animation and Brad Bird's career! Cameron asked such great questions and Brad is such an intelligent and eccentric creator.
Film discussion on this caliber is why I have such a deep love for Niel Breen films and Samurai Cop. You can't truly laugh at a bad film till you know why a good film works.
Great video! Thanks for taking the time to record it! You should talk to your lighting people about getting full spectrum sconce lights installed for the wide shots.
"Edna Mode....and guest." "This is Gronk. My personal assistant." I make my living doing the voices he throws away on a whim. I do have more time off, but man...
@Asad Chaudhry Yeah I agree with you on Tomorrowland. But all of his other films are top notch. I don’t know if you would agree, but I truly believe that Brad Bird is the greatest director in the history of Pixar.
Yeah I thought it was a great story, and I love how positive of a solution he had when they were concerned about how people not knowing how to pronounce it.
Yeah, I bet they did, but don't you get a little annoyed every time they say "well, let's see this amazing clip from..." and they return to a clapping audience? Doesn't this fall under "fair use" ?
Nope. But even if it did, and TIFF had permission, the clips would still continually be flagged and blocked or monetized by the copyright bots of various rights holders. Try it for yourself - upload a clip of music that is in the public domain and see how many copyright bots and trolls automatically claim rights to your entire video and have TH-cam immediately monetize it on their behalf.

This man is a damn genuis
Always love listening to Brad!
hey man! love your works 😮💗nice to see you here!
I noticed that “The Incredibles” came out in 2004, and it was written and directed by Brad Bird. He also plays as Edna Mode.

Love this conversation. The interviewer is fantastic. Patient. Calm. Present. Brad Bird is amazing!

@@TIFF The Incredibles , Bird is so… talented.
same bro ahahaha
I may just listen to this on repeat while I animate. Fantastic interview.
I got a signature !!!!!!!!!
I love how supportive his dad was of him, from the very beginning.
Brad Bird would have been a perfect X-Men, Terminator, and Robocop director.
Wish they talked a bit more about his writing input into the films he made, most especially his animated ones.
Film discussion on this caliber is why I have such a deep love for Niel Breen films and Samurai Cop. You can't truly laugh at a bad film till you know why a good film works.
Man I relate to this man in very particular ways. I seriously want to talk to him one day.
Brad Bird is one charismatic dude. haha. Great sound on this video. Props to the sound guys.
The advice in here is splendid!!
this man is my role model

It was hilarious

GlowBox thank you!!!

It was so good! Also if you look at the teaser trailer, you can see that the "spinning title" thing was applied. So cool
Brad bird inspired me to do animation and movies.
I'd love to see Brad do another live action film.
I'm still baffled on how he did Edna Mode's voice.
Awesome interview, great questions.
: D
Excellent interview. It would be cool if we could see the clips too.
Probably copyright issues prevented that.

Disney is notorious for protecting its properties. Remember when they threatened to prosecute anyone copying the videotapes they sold in stores?

Copyright should be relaxed, meesa thinks! So people like TIFF could add said clips to their youtube videos. Probably not happening anytime soon.
This was great! :)

I really wish they actually showed the clips so people who are watching this and are looking for advice can better understand it.

Dipper Pines was gonna be Remy? Very interesting!!!
Brad Bird should do film for DC comics and warner bros
His ego mess a little bit with his knowledge, making it a little hard to watch for me, but this is great!
Edna E Mode is her voice

Honestly I just came here to see how Brad sounded not voicing Edna.
