Got a call for a reefer unit that quit running and has a high pressure code active here’s a diy on understanding what that means and how to repair or bypass
just bought a reefer truck with a carrier supra 760 on it and when I got up top to look at unit I noticed it had no top cover is the normal ? or is the cover missing.?
I have a carrier transcold reefer unit and it says high discharge pressure I've cleaned the condenser and the fan is working the temp is up and down 338 up to 441 then it goes down to 320s
I have a thermoking 880s with the same issue, high discharge pressure but no other codes. Mechanic changed belts but now he said a relay on the circuit board is out. Is that related at all to the high discharge issue?
my 760 just had the high pressure came on and when I got up in the unit its belts are very loose not sure if that would cause the warning to come on, also I notice when I am am driving down the road no warning comes on, any ideas
Whats up Boss I got a question? I did my reefer pre trip test on my unit and it failed because it says that I have a code P-195 low suction pressure can you give me some insight on what could I could do or check for.
Is there a alarm code AL5 for a carrier supra 860. Cant find nothing about it online. Unit wont even try to start just goes straight to alarm code buzzer when i turn the micro processor ( in cab control box) on.

Hey thanks for showing videos like this, helpful. I have a carrier supra 660 which keeps shutting down whether I come to a hard stop or the truck is turning. I've checked the display unit even replaced and ruled that out. Checked for frayed wires and taped some up but same. Belts are fine, oil etc. Also replaced the speed solenoid and fuel pump. My buddy told me it could be the oil pressure sensor so I bypassed that to test and now the unit shuts down more frequently and throws an alt aux code which I suspect is due to the bypass. Could that also be indicating that the alternator is bad. My buddy is also suggesting replacing the oil pump. Have taken it to the dealer but nothing yet. Any thoughts
Only way it will through an alternator code is if it’s not working via belt loose or alternator dead … looks like you’ve already diagnosed it good job now change that alternator
The alternator voltage truck off on the cab command is showing 13.5-6v is that about right or should it be higher? Truck on its 13.9v but that I guess is the reading from the truck itself
It seems I have the issue resolved. The alternator was under performing yes and was replaced. But I also saw that there were constant bubbles in the fuel pump from loose fittings and there was a short in one of the connectors inside the panel. Both of these were fixed and the issue I was having with the unit stalling and shutting down when I turned left and right, or when the vehicle stopped or took off. After fishing this the defrost when it ran was not completing and kept restarting. Cleaning the contacts on the switch solved that. Hope this helps someone. Thanks for the encouragement that lead to solving my issues.

I already replaced the discharge sensor pressure and the 3 way valve cause they were defective;but the alarm still showing up on the display!!! I already nade a by pass on the hi press sensor on the compressor!!! I can't realice what it coulde bw the reason!! someone could give me a hand with this problem??
Did you find out what your issue was I'm having high compressor discharge and I'm thinking the fan clutch relay is not working properly it does high pressure if I set the unit 7 degrees or lower
never mind just saw a video you had where the unit was open on top. that's crazy. how can that be good.. lol well I will see how it does. has 4000 hours on the unit and still runs . what's good hours for a unit like this. thanks
Hey Boss good video. Im having a Hi Press message coming on my supra 960. Paid to get an oil change, filled with freon and they "Tighten" a belt. Before I left tech said I can use a new fuel pump. Used about 10 times no problem... First tried to turn on but would get CNF1 TV message. Disconnected and reconnect fuel pump and started up. So I changed fuel pump but now im getting the HI PRESS message.. What do you think?
Many reasons could be the issue first check the coolant level is it full? have you purged it? Is the belt on the water pump… that’s the belt on the front of the engine nearest the front of the truck. Is the thermostat ok? Any leaks? And lastly it’s got a blown head gasket

Hey mate, thanks for posting these videos. I have a carrier supra 750. Evaporator fans in the box are not working. The box has 2 evaporators, each with 3 fan motors And none of them are working. The rest of the unit is operating correctly. No error codes. Any ideas?
Greeting Sir. I got a frozen bread for some reason when I was empty my set tem was -10, aftet loaded i can't get down pass 1°F on my 7300x4. I didn't get no alarm. I take it to the shop, the tech told me it's running perfectly fine. I don't have any problem, refrigerant level fine. I'm confused to why the screen show i can't get to the set temperature?
air9170 hello. I am NOT a reefer tech. If your unit will not cool the trailer as it should, it can be because the weather is so hot that your condenser is overheating. You can try shutting unit off and spraying cool water on condenser to cool it off, then re-starting unit, see what happens. Good luck.
@@phoenix6209 if that still happens check the belts they should have a little give but not flapping around while running. One of the fans might be going bad. I suggest taking it to a Carrier dealer.
I do have the same issue. I’ve got the sensor in a dealership. How do you replace the sensor? I know there’s a high-pressure in there.

What’s pressure rating on that mini pressure switch? reftech I see it’s 404a ref. We usually have a 450psi cutout on commercial building units

it has a leak low suction pressure means it has run out of Freon find the leak repair and refill

Have a High pressure sensor code on a thermo king v-520. I notice belt is loose andvthe unit goes on and off.....could the belt be throwing that code?

Changed the alternator but the same issue, the voltage is slightly higher but it didn't fix the problem.

4000 ain’t bad I’ve had em run for 15k plus without major issues and yeah they don’t come with top covers they have to breath!

Could the unit being low on refrigerant also cause the unit to build high pressure? I’m talking 55psig suction and 425psig head pressure.
No high pressure can only come from faulty sensors, gate valves, or to much Freon

check voltage to fans. if you are getting 12V and good ground then replace fans.

air9170 hello. I am NOT a reefer tech. If your unit will not cool the trailer as it should, it can be because the weather is so hot that your condenser is overheating. You can try shutting unit off and spraying cool water on condenser to cool it off, then re-starting unit, see what happens. Good luck.

My high pressure alarm came on for about 5 min but the reefer ran fine. Should I be worried?
Wash the condenser good with soap and a garden hose for a half hour.

My unit run for about 3to5 mins shut off than I bush the switch ucome back on an repeat it shut of again
