You can visit all year but during winter and spring it’s probably too cold to swim. Good times are early May before school is out or after school is back in the fall!
We got ours butts kicked by Milton and Helene here at Anna Maria Island. It stirred everything up but now is starting to look clear again. It does have some of the most amazing water around! ☀️🌴
I’m just north of you in the Bay Area and flooded 3 feet deep as well 😭 I’m in some Anna Maria island groups on fb and you all just got PUMMELED. The sand in the streets and pools and homes was just 😭😭 but I’m following the recovery efforts and it’s coming along! I’m seeing that the water is looking better and better by the day too! My thoughts are with y’all down there, you are doing good!
@ It’s amazing how the sand and water pushed in and wiped out all kinds of landscaping not to mention ruining homes and businesses. Things have come a long way! I think the island is going to make a great comeback and will be even better! The views of the water now(kind of sadly also) from the road are absolutely breathtaking. This will push many needed updates to properties and it will look amazing once again. I was worried about the water color for weeks and weeks but thank the lord above the amazing blues and greens are back and the water has cleared up greatly. Anna Maria is a very special place for me, I miss the rod & reel and the Anna Maria city pier greatly. They are a big loss but should be back one day. I look forward to enjoying our beautiful islands for years to come! ☀️🌴
@FollowMeAway Definitely on the weekend, but even during the week at popular spots like Kelly, Wekiva, Blue, Silver Glen, Alexander, etc often times. Btw "The Glen" might be one of my favorites. Just stunning.
I have not visited any of the Springs and that is what is on my Florida Bucket list. Unfortunately, between TV and social media many more people have been attracted to live and visit the keys have a lot more traffic for any holiday, not just Snow Bird season.
I was just at Juno. There were tons of public parking areas all along the entrance points (parallel parking) for anyone and then a few lots at entrances as well for the public

If you want to visit the springs during the summer, make sure to get there really early. They fill up quickly.
