    James my friend, I am delighted that as owner of the company you still drive and do videos. You definitely seem to still be as friendly and down to earth as when you were a driver. Owning the company hasn’t changed you at all. I’m rambling, peace and blessings🙏

    The sheer amount of pride I see is amazing. Taking care of the customer and making sure the equipment is safe and ready to travel is always amazing. All my trips with Wisconsin coach lines you never once seen a driver pre trip and check the coach over… shocking when you are playing with peoples lives

    Great seeing you back on the road! Thanks for taking us with you. It is amazing how much traffic there is between the Chicago area and Champaign/Urbana. When I was a conductor for Amtrak between Chicago and Carbondale via Champaign, Friday and Sunday were always busy. Motor Coach Industries headquarters used to be at 1700 E Golf Rd, directly across from the north side of Woodfield Mall. From 2001 to 2011 I would often look out the windows of our office and watch coaches, usually MCIs, picking up and dropping off passengers. As James was ending his drive down in Champaign, it was on streets I remember from my time at the University of Illinois over fifty years ago. Thanks for the memories.

I don't want them to know or treat me any differently. And I don't want any advantages or disadvantages while I am providing service to customers of the company.
      This way it allows me to see certain things that I would otherwise not be able to see that may help me make decisions on how to better help the drivers and staff.

    For the CEO to do a line haul run you certainly will keep a pulse on the operation. A friend of mine was used to short and easy charters at Badger Bus and every now and then he gets squeezed in to doing a Sunday night trip from Milwaukee to Madison to carry all the UW students back. He always said that was like the real wake up call to all those trips when he was just starting out. Too bad you don't have a clone as we need a new Director of Transportation at our Transit System. Conflicting stories as to how the vacancy occurred but she sent in a picture of herself and an RV saying she's starting the next part of her journey in life. It also is just before budget time. • @Opinionatedguy1989
    @Opinionatedguy1989 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

    At least you have loaders following you. When I rode the greyhound between 2006-2018, drivers had to load themselves. They only had loaders at the major terminals, but they had to take the tickets themselves. I guess the girls wanted their daddy time, but you had to work, so it's a family ride along.

    Great video James!.
    In New Zealand drivers of long distance coaches usually have to load passenger's
    luggage by themselves. If he or she is lucky, a helpful passenger may assist the driver
    with the luggage.
    If the coach is full, this could take considerable time leading to delays, shortening or
    bypassing refreshment stops and late arrival times.

    Hello sir, I am Mike. I run Captol Coach here in Saint Albans, West Virginia. You mentioned in a few videos back about some software coming out so I could manage my three bus fleet and I have like nine limos and it could cover it too. When would that software be coming out? I would love to know thank you. love your videos. I’m a bus nut too.

    That Blueparrot is an on ear that pushes on the ear. Not as bulky as the over the ear like Rand McNally ClearDryve 200/220 that I use. It sits around the ear comfortably but it gets TOASTY real quick.
    If the McD has kiosks, I use them. It almost seems as if they're pushing you to use the app, which I kicked off my phone after finding out they imposed forced arbitration in the terms late September. I guess I just won't go there anymore.
    So your loading team is also your advance troop placing cameras ahead of your arrival? 😂

      Shouldn't be too difficult. If the interview goes well, you would still have to go through our 4 week training. It's paid training and there would be class room and over the road portions. Feel free to apply. Peoriacharter.com

    Is it normal in the U.S. for long-haul bus lines to make stops in parking lots rather than at designated bus stops? In the EU (or at least in Estonia, where I live), buses are required to stop at designated bus stops or stations on line runs.

    • @JWangvlogs
      @JWangvlogs  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes buses can really stop anywhere as long as it's not sitting there for a long time.
      They are not very many designated bus sitting areas here in the US.

    I can't wear any in-ear headphones for any length of time due to discomfort. I like a set of AfterShokz bone conduction headphones I have. Music is maybe FM quality, but good for audio books and podcasts. They're really meant for jogging and bicycling where you need to keep a sense of the traffic around you. The ear canal is totally unobstructed.

      Our buses do so many different things that we have to be careful about putting up signage on them. I have looked into digital signs that can be changed for each trip but they are costly.

      There are automotive window glass marker products, like when a used car at a lot has the price painted on the windshield in a high-vis florescent color. You have to be careful washing it off though. In my experience no matter what you do for bus signage, people will still ask. What if all the passengers got a text telling them which bus number to look for at some time before departure? People are pretty used to that with rideshare.

So the only way you can get a coach with a DETROIT is you buy a MERCEDES BENZ TOURRIDER. PREVOST is owned by VOLVO so that’s the engine that PREVOST uses now.

      @@crabbymilton390 I would thin that just like Over The Road trucks you can put any engine you want in there. When Kenworth came out with their W 900 100th anniversary edition it came with a Cummins ISX 15 rather than the stock Paccar engine. Freightliner which is owned by Daimler uses the Detroit's or MB engines but you can order them with a Cummins or a Cat. The same with Volvo. I have no idea what the Chinese built buses use.

      @@michaelrocker9000 I know next to nothing about over the road trucks and the engine options so you could be right. I know that CAT dropped out long ago for buses too. Sure it’s nice to have choices but standardization is better. No clue what Chinese buses use either but in order to sell them over here, they would almost have to use an American power train since everyone is familiar with them.
