There’s a really nice restaurant just NW of the mall. WEBER GRILL. They have nice ribs. I used to stop there after going to a CUBS game at WRIGLEY since PACE used to have a shuttle that would pick up near WOODFIELD. I lost interest in sports several years ago but I should go back to WEBER GRILL someday.
Great video, as always. Request: more Tourrider videos. By the way, LOVE the black Van Hool. Please include it on some video. Pretty please???!!! Be safe out threre. Tootles!
So James, what do you look for when you hit the tires with that club? McDONALDS coffee. You would be better off just brewing it at the house and putting in a thermos. That way you know it’s good. Or on board coffee maker next time you order buses.😀
If there is air in the tire, the tire thumper will bounce easily and make a loud, sharp thud; and if the tire is flat (no air) it will not bounce much and will give a sound like a dull thud when it is smacked.
Great video. I enjoyed it. What are you listening to, or who are you taking to? Does the Bloomington bus come out of the Urbana garage or the Peoria garage?
I actually listen the a random playlist on Epidemic sounds, which I have a subscription to for copyright free music that I use for my videos. I use drive time to listen to songs that I would want to use when I start editing my videos. The Bloomington bus and driver are based out of Peoria Garage.

Amen my ClearDryve 200 was replaced under warranty at around the 1yr mark for failed Bluetooth. The replacement have been fine since. I have still yet to figure out how to take it apart for eventual battery replacement, and its ANC slide switch is already loose from wear.
James: do bus drivers have personal conveyance on their log books to go from motel to McDonald’s or are you having to use your hours of service? Thanks. Love the vidoes
That Blueparrot is an on ear that pushes on the ear. Not as bulky as the over the ear like Rand McNally ClearDryve 200/220 that I use. It sits around the ear comfortably but it gets TOASTY real quick. If the McD has kiosks, I use them. It almost seems as if they're pushing you to use the app, which I kicked off my phone after finding out they imposed forced arbitration in the terms late September. I guess I just won't go there anymore. So your loading team is also your advance troop placing cameras ahead of your arrival? 😂
Shouldn't be too difficult. If the interview goes well, you would still have to go through our 4 week training. It's paid training and there would be class room and over the road portions. Feel free to apply. Peoriacharter.com

Is it normal in the U.S. for long-haul bus lines to make stops in parking lots rather than at designated bus stops? In the EU (or at least in Estonia, where I live), buses are required to stop at designated bus stops or stations on line runs.
Yes buses can really stop anywhere as long as it's not sitting there for a long time. They are not very many designated bus sitting areas here in the US.
I can't wear any in-ear headphones for any length of time due to discomfort. I like a set of AfterShokz bone conduction headphones I have. Music is maybe FM quality, but good for audio books and podcasts. They're really meant for jogging and bicycling where you need to keep a sense of the traffic around you. The ear canal is totally unobstructed.
Our buses do so many different things that we have to be careful about putting up signage on them. I have looked into digital signs that can be changed for each trip but they are costly.
There are automotive window glass marker products, like when a used car at a lot has the price painted on the windshield in a high-vis florescent color. You have to be careful washing it off though. In my experience no matter what you do for bus signage, people will still ask. What if all the passengers got a text telling them which bus number to look for at some time before departure? People are pretty used to that with rideshare.
I thought you were working behind the scenes. I also thought you were a Prevost guy. LOL What this J4500 have for a power train? Living in the boonies of Western North Carolina the only time i may see a coach is if the driver is lost or going to the Valley River Casino in Murphy NC Stay safe.
@@crabbymilton390 when I was driving up until 2012 it was the Detroit 60 series. The only coaches I drove that had a Cummins we Von Hools. Those kicked ass. They weren't locked down and there were times i buried the needle on the speedometer. One time on the NJ Turnpike I passed a portable Your Speed is device and it lit up 99. It only had the 2 digits.
@@michaelrocker9000 Perhaps you knew this but the DETROIT DIESEL option was discontinued in 2021. DETROIT Went almost exclusively proprietary at that point. So the only way you can get a coach with a DETROIT is you buy a MERCEDES BENZ TOURRIDER. PREVOST is owned by VOLVO so that’s the engine that PREVOST uses now.
@@crabbymilton390 I would thin that just like Over The Road trucks you can put any engine you want in there. When Kenworth came out with their W 900 100th anniversary edition it came with a Cummins ISX 15 rather than the stock Paccar engine. Freightliner which is owned by Daimler uses the Detroit's or MB engines but you can order them with a Cummins or a Cat. The same with Volvo. I have no idea what the Chinese built buses use.
@@michaelrocker9000 I know next to nothing about over the road trucks and the engine options so you could be right. I know that CAT dropped out long ago for buses too. Sure it’s nice to have choices but standardization is better. No clue what Chinese buses use either but in order to sell them over here, they would almost have to use an American power train since everyone is familiar with them.

You will like the parrot. I have one. I don’t leave it on my head all the time. It will cause the ear to get warm.
I think i passed you rolling down the road . Use them turn signals 👍
I do use my signals.. every time. Did you notice somewhere where I didn't?
@ not you , many other bus company’s just speed down the road and signals are optional .
@@CS-zw1ch oh ok I thought I had forgotten to use it somewhere in the video lol 🤣. Thanks man.
Love the video. Im an experienced bus operator. Im looking to make a move. How is the pay?
I love the mcchicken add macsauce. I bet it would be better with mayo.
James as always good video
Man
I have 3 masters degrees...drove the biggest U Haul truck from Chicago to Pittsburgh...but am 60 ...am I hired? Lol
We are always looking for drivers with skills and are well rounded. If you live in the area and want to drive, go to our website and fill out an app
You're supposed to have coffee on the way TO work and before pre-trip. C'mon James, get it together!!😂
LOL! Good point!
But james it looked like you were in the secret service 😂
lol!
Could you post a link to what mounts you use for cameras and other gear?

Hello sir, I am Mike. I run Captol Coach here in Saint Albans, West Virginia. You mentioned in a few videos back about some software coming out so I could manage my three bus fleet and I have like nine limos and it could cover it too. When would that software be coming out? I would love to know thank you. love your videos. I’m a bus nut too.
Hey thank you Mike! Always glad to meet a fellow collogue. Send me a email. Jwang@peoriacharter.com
✌🏾
I did try the Chicken Big Mac in canada 🇨🇦 it was around for a limited time. They used a different kind of chicken patty
@@alainthibault184 yeah it was a giant chicken nugget basically. It was breaded exactly like the nuggets were.
@JWangvlogs it was still good
The blue parrott served me well as an OTR driver for years id avoid the rand mcnally ones it didnt last as long
Amen my ClearDryve 200 was replaced under warranty at around the 1yr mark for failed Bluetooth. The replacement have been fine since. I have still yet to figure out how to take it apart for eventual battery replacement, and its ANC slide switch is already loose from wear.
now does it feel different doing a haul as the owner... :)
lol you know... I never asked myself that question... Now that you mention it... it does. lol. I feel more responsible.
How difficult is it for a truck driver with 29 years experience get a job driving a charter bus? Enjoy your content and channel.
Shouldn't be too difficult. If the interview goes well, you would still have to go through our 4 week training. It's paid training and there would be class room and over the road portions. Feel free to apply. Peoriacharter.com
Whats u order at that mcdeez here in socal or anywhere in cali would be double the price chicken big mac large ice coffee be 16 to 18 dollar lol
Oh man.... Yeah I could not live out there lol
@@JWangvlogs it beautiful but expensive blame politicians. Im happy for you your next journey being ceo and owner of peoria charters going to watch all vids that u make
Huh… interesting y’all don’t use the Northwest Transit Center nearby at Woodfield. But awesome video nonetheless!
James, I use a similar headset. I brought the Blue Tiger, those kind work great, FYI. How is the Chicken Big Mac? You better lay off that McDonald's don't you ain't going to fit through that J door.😂
Why dont your buses have signs in the upper part of the front window saying the destination?
There not a public transportation service there a charter company means you have to rent the bus
Some macdonalds are closing due to the shortage of workers
😮 oh wow.. not surprised actually..
I thought you were working behind the scenes. I also thought you were a Prevost guy. LOL What this J4500 have for a power train?
Living in the boonies of Western North Carolina the only time i may see a coach is if the driver is lost or going to the Valley River Casino in Murphy NC
Stay safe.
CUMMINS is the sole engine with the ALLISON automatic. I own stock in CUMMINS so I own the company that supplies the engines James’s MCI’s. 😝
