That is the perfect short. I can now see that they're little spin-stabilized rockets. Thanks for making this video, they look really cool

It’s amazing what goes into these rocket flares! You would never know without the slow motion video. Thank you for commenting! SSUSA

Yea, there's a lot of design work, and technology that goes into these things to make sure they work correctly each and every time. The rocket venturies are actually canted to make the rocket spin in place of rifling... It has no need for fins either...

They let off one hell of a "boom" as the rocket ignites as well...

The ignition can be startling if you're not ready for it! Thanks for the comment!

@@SurvivalSystemsUSA It sure can be. You better be hanging on tight. They have some pretty stout recoil as well because a small ejection charge blows the flare out of the launcher tube a few feet to keep from getting burned by the rocket. That's the "boom" you hear in the vid... Thank you for the video. Really interesting in slow motion...

How Long Would it Last If Stored Correctly ? I Still have The Pocket Rocket Aerial Flare Had it Since 1999 Hope They Still Would Work.
Nice Vid Clip. I'll check these out.

We appreciate the comment, Leslie! The best way to figure out storage guidelines is to go by the manufacture’s recommendations. You should be able to find the company contact info on their website or product label. Come back to this thread and let us know what the manufacturer says!

Best to replace after 5 years minimum. You don’t want to rely on a decade old flare. May only stay in the air for 20 seconds you never know. You wouldn’t rely on a 20 year old fire extinguisher
