I used to say MJ would avg 40-45 PPG in this era. I was wrong and I take it back. After watching more of his 87 and 88 season I think he'll avg 50 hands down. People think he can't do this on a nightly basis with today's modern defense and rules? Surround him with 3 pt shooters an open lane, no touch rules and he's gonna get 50 every night.

The announcing was every bit as spectacular as Jordan's game.
RIP - Jim Durham and Johnny "Red" Kerr.

Watching games as a kid when they were announcing made the games even better. Jim Durham painted a picture of the game that kept you in the action. It was almost like listening to an old radio serial broadcast, he was an artist and wasn't over the top. Just something about the way he conveyed the information to the viewer/listener.

What a game to witness?!?! The crowd saw something spectacular that night. 26/27, breakaway dunks, the LEAN dunk and the crazy play when he made the record. And what I really appreciate is that he went fist bumping and screaming after that one play at the end of the game. Sorry but I cannot stand most of the today's best players (LBJ, Westbrook) flexing after every single semi-highlight play! Word! MJ's class cannot be touched ;)

There is no era in league history, where Michael Jordan would not be the best player in the league.

Some good, classy comments by MJ in the great post game interview with Johnny Kerr. I'm so thankful I got to grow up not just watching MJ, the GOAT, play but that I also grew up during the Golden Age of the NBA. Count me as one who believes Jordan would average 40+ in today's Association. Maybe even approach 50 PPG.

I don't watch the Nerf Ball NBA Game that exists today. If only the NBA Individuals who "decided" to radically change NBA rules to boost Ratings, Ticket & Merchandise Sales after Michael Jordan retired, because there was NO ONE else who filled the Stadiums or whose NBA related merchandise sold anywhere even close to MJ ... perhaps the day will come when they return the Game to it's original splendor, when the game was played on both ends of the Court ... We can DREAM. I really can't believe they want to make even more changes in attempt to increase NBA Ratings+ to the days when the World wanted to watch Michael Jordan & The Chicago Bulls. 🤔🐐

37.1ppg. What a beast. I don't think there will be another player that could average like this, at thesame time being the best defensive player. Man, the crowd goes wild. The excitement he brings is unmatched. GOAT. Imagine him playing this era. He will be atleast 15 times on the freethrow a game.

Funny how in a lot of Jordan's great performances, he wasn't even "in the zone". He just manufactures points. It was the case for the 63 points at Boston. Here for example, he missed a lot of scoop shots that he usually makes at that time. But yet, he still scores 58. Crazy...but that's Jordan...

    • @boogieloo1831

Air Magic - this is so true. He would just grind out 30 points on so many nights like it was nothing - and not in the zone.

How old are you 15? What year do you think this games was played in? This is definitely pre 1988. The Bulls starting lineup is MJ,Gene Banks, Charles Oakley, Dave Corzine and John Paxson which should have been the giveaway right there plus the center jump circle hasn't been changed to the Bulls logo yet. The change to the logo at center court happened in 1988.
