      Victor lol if he played in this era I’m sure he would’ve picked up the 3. Jordan back then would average 40 Plus today in his sleep lol. Look at what someone as unathletic as Harden is doing. Jordan would get to hoop at will today and still whack 3s.

    I swear words can barely describe how good Jordan was. I mean I’ve played high school and college ball here in Quebec, I’ve played in various leagues, I’ve seen some great players, hell I was a great player, but Jordan lol And what makes him so great was his tenacity. Just there was no let up, every game, every play, was like his last. He played like his life depended on it lol Just you don’t see that drive and will, anywhere. He was big, 6’6, lean, could run like a Gazelle, had big hands, super athletic, and again, the tenacity. So much energy. I doubt we’ll see another like him, well maybe.

    Everyone always refers to the 72-10 2nd dynasty era (late 90's 2nd 3 peat) to see Jordan at his prime, but his prime was definitely the late 80's early 90's. This was when he was at the top of his physical ability being younger, averaged 40+ in multiple playoff series, earned defensive player of yr, MVP and 35ppg scoring title all in the same season.

    This is what most people don't know or can't understand, Look how he's creating those lanes to score... Or he's doin it strictly with his Jumpshot. Where as in today's NBA those lane's are wide open, Because the 4 and 5 man are out by the 3point line shooting 3's or guarding the other Bigs who shoot 3's. This is just one of the thing's that made him so special because he won 10 scoring title's by doin it that way, That is simply AMAZING!!!

    Wow, what a reminder! I really tried to watch carefully to see what it was that he had and I saw some interesting things. One, like Doninique says, he had the fastest feet/footwork I've ever seen on anybody (watch his feet, it's unreal), the huge and really strong hands (Phil Jackson says it's one of Jordan's greatest attributes, especially when asked to compare to Kobe); needless to mention the overall quickness and athleticism, but his excellent vertical leap really seems to give him tremendous balance and support on all those short and midrange jumpers over people. BUt last and certainly not least was his kind of secret weapon: Jordan was shockingly strong physically; Barkley says people don't realize cuz he didn't look all big and buff (like him) that was one of the strongest PLAYERS in the league, and just ridiculoiusly stronger than any guard ever.

Doug Collins himself said it best, when the dog days came in the NBA schedule Jordan knew people paid to see him play, he refused to take days off for rest. And he took it personal when the Bulls lost. The roster he played with before the championship days were straight garbage. But still the games were entertaining. I know Doug Collins has nightmares like Mark Jackson, what could I have done differently.

    of course its hard to compare Lebron and Jordan because they play different styles, but man there is no way Lebron could do what Jordan did from the mid-range game. That jump shot and turn-around jumper were just the best of all time and although Kobe has come close, no one will ever duplicate it.

    • @ram0666
      @ram0666 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lebron couldnt do what Jordan did from complete leadership perspective down to just being an icon that basically never waived in his strength as a player that could elevate a franchise.Lebron was mentally weak compared to MJ. Mj never panicked unlike Lebron. When Lebron left his hometown he showed how mentally unsure he was of himself because there is no way a hometown kid sells his city out like Lebron did if he believed in himself that he would get it done. He showed he was unsure of himself for the first time and a few more times to follow .Lets not forget this.I have to wonder if he would have won as much if they didnt stack his title teams with other players that also wanted to take the path of least resistance.Lebron was often out done in his prime by melting done in championships as well as being swept at hi height. The fact that those loaded Miami teams lost just as much as they won is really a blackeye in the comparison to MJ . He really hasnt showed he is better than Magic if you really want to keep it a buck.

He was saying how the quality of the teams would be much better by getting rid of teams and creating more stacked teams with more all stars on the same team. to avoid a modern day 76ers team as watered down.

      So all the documentaries/players/coaches who adamantly agree with the assessment that the defense of the past was more tough, as opposed to today's game which has created an open paint and allowed for more offensive development by a wide margin of athletes are wrong?
      Ya...ok...You realize that even people growing up in today's era realize that the height of the NBA talent was the dream team era. The 80's into the early to mid 90's. It's not debatable.

      You obviously have no clue what you're talking about. Average game score was actually lower in the 90s than it is now due to defensive nature of the game back then. David Stern changed the rules in the 2000s to open the game up offensively, bringing in flagrant 1, 2 fouls, no more hand-checking etc. Also, Dumars was a great defensive player. Height is not the only thing that makes a player great, just ask Chris Paul. But I'm sure you don't care about facts, most 12 year old Kobetards don't.

    I only have 3 or 4 regrets with Michael Jordan's career:
    1/ He didn't have the chance to stumble upon a contender early in his career like Kobe did in 1997 with the Los Angeles Lakers because we would have seen the 84-93 Jordan in his prime win even more titles.
    2/ He didn't have the chance to stumble upon a weak eastern conference like Lebron did for the same reasons.
    3/he never played in a team with multiple all stars caliber players (a big 3 for example) like many great stars did so that he would have been to play 1on1 for much of his career. His numbers would have been even better.
    4/He retired (didn't rest or take years off...he literraly retired) in 1993 following the death of his father.
    5/ The fact that he retired after 1998 because of the 2 Jerrys.
    @7:26, Jordan did the exact same move in the flu game!

    • @uncletony6210
      @uncletony6210 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      With regard to 1, you could argue that he instead had the chance to play 8 seasons for Phil. How many chips does MJ win but/for Phil?
      With regard to 3, why would his numbers have been better if he played with another big star with whom he had to share the ball more? Also, isn't Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, about as big a three as there has ever been?
      4, Do you really believe that...
      5, He could have signed with any team in the league if he wanted...

    • @tangaraspeedgoda7436
      @tangaraspeedgoda7436 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@uncletony6210 With regard to number one, if you think about Kobe, Lebron, Magic, Bird, Russel, Chamberlain, Jabbar, Olajuwon, Duncan...they all had the chance to get into a situation early in their career where they were able to compete for a ship right away. Jordan stumbled upon the worst team in the league at that time.
      3/ Because Jordan was the most guarded player in the league. I mean he went through all kind of defenses. Double teamed and triple teamed on a regular basis his entire career. With another star (specially a dominant center), he would have been able to play far more one on one more often, giving him more freedom and opportunities. His FG% would have been better and his overral stats as well because he would have been the first option of that team.
      Jordan, Pippen and Rodman were not a big 3 at all. Rodman was a role player, not even an overall good basketball player. But he was the best rebounder ever and one of the best defensive player ever as well. Besides those 2 things, he just sucked. He was actually one of the reasons why it was so easy to double/triple-teamed MJ because Bulls were playing 4 vs 5 offensively most of the time.
      The Bulls were not a big 3, it's a team that got carried by Jordan and Pippen half of the time and another half by Jordan alone.
      If you want examples of Big 3 (or Big 4) in that era take for example the Seattle Supersonics with Kemp, Payton, Shrempf, the Golden State Warriors with Run TMC (Hardaway, Mullin, Richmond), the Cavs (Harper, Price, Daugherty, Nance), the Jazz with Jeff Malone, Karl Malone, John Stockton or the Orlando Magic with Shaq, Penny, Nick Anderson, Dennis Scott, the Bad Boys Pistons (Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars, Bill Laimbeer, Andrian Dantley and later on Marc Aguire), The Suns with Barkley, Majerle, Ceballos, Kevin Johnson, The Rockets with Barkley, Olajuwon and Drexler etc. The Bulls were FAR from being the most talented team in that era.
      4/ If you believe the conspiracy theory about that, you most likely weren't watching basketball at that time. Otherwise, you would have understood how dumb and nonsensical that theory really is...
      5/ You're right. But Phil Jackson wasn't able to find a job right away...and MJ wanted to stay loyal to him at the time so...

      @@tangaraspeedgoda7436 1) What about LeBron, i.e., the player he is most often compared to, did he "stumble upon a contender" early in his career?
      3) Rodman was "best rebounder ever and one of the best defensive players ever as well," yet he was "not even an overall good basketball player." I've read some pretty incredible YT comments over the years, but that just might take the cake, buddy. Congrats! :D Dan, Kevin, and Cedric were a better big 3 than Michael, Scottie, and Dennis?? Yeah, I wouldn't share that opinion with anyone else, if I were you.
      4) actually, I've been watching peachbasket since circa 1976, which I'm going to guess is probably before you were born, grasshopper. And if you believe, that PRIME MJ, who was the most competitive SOB in the world, "retired to play baseball," only to come back and play 3+ more years, I've got a bridge to sell you. But no, it's the my theory that is "dumb and nonsensical!" :D
      5) so, MJ had a CHOICE, i.e., he wasn't "forced" out of the league, so...

    • @tangaraspeedgoda7436
      @tangaraspeedgoda7436 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@uncletony6210 1/ With Lebron, there are some similarities but it's a different context. When Jordan came into the league, the eastern conference was the best conference (even though the West was tough too). When Lebron came into the league and reached the finals in 2007, the east had not been that weak since probably the 60's. He's had the easiest path ever to reach the finals. So even though the data looked similar at first glance, it ends up being a totally different scenario.
      3/ Apparently, you have a hard time either with english or basketball understanding. You can be the best at something and not be a good or great player overall. You can be a one dimensionnal player. Or maybe you are impressed by the HOF selection? Horace Grant was a role player but he was better than Rodman (at least Rodman with the Bulls). Rodman couldn't buy a basket to save his life. Now keep in mind he wasn't in his prime when he played for the Bulls. I mean...I don't know what else to say...if you can contradict me, please do. Maybe I'll lear something from you. The point is, Rodman was a role player on the court who was asked to do 2 things: defense and rebounds. Now if you want to call that a great player and prove me that he was great player overall, I'm waiting.
      4/ No I don't think you've been watching basketball for as long as you pretend, otherwise you wouldn't be asking those naive questions. But the reason why I state that that theory is dumb, naive and nonsensical is the fact that I'm aware of how much the nba struggled financially when Jordan retired the first time (actually everytime he did...) and how much they struggled to reestablished some kind of momemtum until MJ came back. I'm aware of that because I've witnessed and lived it.
      The only thing that saved the nba is the come back of Michael. Now if you think that the league was dumb enough to take such a risk for its financial stability just to punish MJ for something that is not even a crime, I've got some psychology books to sell you. Now, if you have some solid elements or any kind of proof that the nba "fired" MJ, I will be eager to see them. The truth is that his father asked him to retire after his first title to become a baseball player. Then he planned to retire in 1992, then in 1993, then his father died. And the last conversation they had was about him going to play baseball. But I think they're gonna talk about it in the "last dance" at some point. But really, if you could use your brain just a little bit, you wouldn't need "the last dance" to understand the truth.
      5/ I never said he was forced by anybody. I said he retired because of the 2 stupidity of the 2 Jerry's. When you have a billion dollar machine on top of his game, and that he's asking for nothing in particular except keeping his head coach and you fired him...well you're just a moron, plain and simple. And the Bulls never recovered from that...they went back to what they used to be before MJ and that's perfect.

    • @uncletony6210
      @uncletony6210 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tangaraspeedgoda7436 1, Who played in a tougher east upon entering the league is immaterial, unless your regret is simply that MJ didn't make more NBA finals, which I kind of doubt, given that that would have likely resulted in a less than perfect finals record.
      3, I'm surprised I have to learn ya' this, but because there are different aspects of the game, there are likewise different ways in which one can be great player. There are literally hundreds of examples to choose from, but I'll just pull a couple out of air: Alex English could basically do one thing, i.e., score. Not much of a rebounder, passer, ball handler, defender, yet, dude is in the HoF. Steve Nash: dude couldn't defend and only averaged 14 pts/3 boards for his career, yet, in the hall because he was great at ONE thing - assists. Rodman, by your own admission, is arguably the BEST EVER - not at one but TWO things! but 'not a good player'...Why?
      4, questions: 1. Would you agree that there is a distinct possibility (if not a substantial likelihood) that at some point, MJ threw downs bills on an nba game? 2. If so, do you think that the NBA would publicly announce that Jordan, the best player and face of the league, bet on basketball? Or, do you think in the interest of avoiding what may have been the sports scandal of the century, the league might have opted to deal with matter in an alternative manner? I think what's lost on you is the fact that ALL sports take gambling VERY seriously (see Pete Rose), and with good reason, i.e., no sport can risk its fan base losing faith in the integrity of the sport, for obvious reasons.
      Also, in the HISTORY of sport, can you cite a single other occasion where the most dominant player in his/her sport retired in his/her prime, to play another sport that they weren't very good at? If not, wouldn't you agree that the 'baseball 'story is at minimum "odd" and more likely, "dumb and nonsensical?" Yes, I know it's easier to simply "believe," but that's not the best use of our grey matter/God-given common sense. 'Be a 'thinker,' not a believer.'
      5,correct, you stated that Jordan retired because of the two Jerrys, i.e., you placed the blame on others when in fact, retirement was MJ's choice (semantics/who cares).

Jordan had to deal with hand checking, zone defenses, etc. The Detroit Pistons had to make up a defensive scheme called "Jordan Rules", to where they swarmed him, triple teamed him, hit him, pushed him, knocked him down and everything else you can think of. Any player playing today would have wilted with those defensive schemes back then. Jordan also dominated the 90's and beat some of the best centers like Olajuwon, Ewing, Shaq, Alonzo Mourning, etc. Michael Jordan would CRUCIFY the pussy defenses of today's NBA.
