Morning Nathan from Cape Cod. The proper term to seal burning Pine would be "yaku sugi" (burn wood). Sho Sugi Ban refers specifically to burning a specific species of cedar and only that cedar. It's always an interesting subject as it refers to the interpretation of the Chinese Han language origins... Hope you have a great day.

Why use an impact drill on wood at any time either pre drill or use the correct screw you are more likely to damage or destroy the screw and then you are in a hole lot of trouble 😉 but what would an old bricklayer know about carpentry anyway

Nathan, Kreg makes a jig for using on larger timber like 2 X 4 and thicker. The jig comes with a very nice screw and the screw is coated for outside projects. I've used it making the supports for work benches with 2 X 4 wood and fence posts in treated 4 X 4's. Your clamps are very nice but I use pipe clamps because of the price. I would have used 2 on each side top and bottom. OK you used 4 just like I was saying. I might have counter sunk the screws a couple of inches. Now that is a magnificent 2 wheeler!!! Hey, burn pile is pretty good!!! Drill presses are great. Mine was my Dad's and is older than I am and I am 75. Nice heavy drill chuck. Wow, the drill stop is the same as mine and like I said mine is over 75 years old. Good ideas last!!! You are going to love the working light and the laser.

I have three drill presses in my home shop, a small countertop, a drill press with a base, and a large floor model that I changed to three phase so I could use an inverter set to 50-80 cycle to allow me variable speed. Guess which one does 80% of my work. The small craftsman from sears gets most of the use. Ray

17:06 well your not far from Springfield mo, and Grizzly tools
You should go one day but not during the tent sale and go back in the scratch and dent room.
I got a 2hp dust collector for 100 bucks off the summer sale price in 2018 or 2017. They always have all kinds of toys marked down.
Then your not that far from Kansas city mo where your shaper was made and who built the sawmill you have.
Go down in the caves after you visit the office in the industrial park about a block away from where my belsaw was made for craftsman.
Reminds me I need to order new rollers for it.
