I could see uses for both, depending on the gig. However I’m a chubby chaser when it comes to nut width, so I would tend towards the Fodera whenever I could get away with it.
The fodera is so much more present and sits in the mix better on all pickup settings. Maybe a preamp thing? Not sure but on this I’d take the Fodera everyday. I’d love to hear my Sadowsky masterbuilt in this mix.
I'm a Tobias and MTD Fan-Boy from way back, so of course I'm voting for the MTD! (And my Tobias Signature 5 has the Mike Pope pre-amp in it, making it almost like a Fodera!)
Both sound amazing but for practicality and all around how can anyone pass on the MTD? Unless your performing with a Grammy winning award artist nightly how do you justify spending $10k+ on a musical instrument?
even if I had to choose to pay so much for an MTD, I would choose other brands (Fodera, F bass, Ken Smith), for example, I don't understand how new Alembics can cost even 35k or why second-hand WALs are sold as two MTDs
