- In this video we will go over some of my worst pokemon tcg investments to date. some were even border line good , but I still needed to put them on today's list. Pokemon Investing can get tricky fast , buy by the end of this video you will know exactly what products to stay far far away from!

Collection boxes are never the move, UNLESS, the box has some kind of alt art and not just normal exs/v/v max and full arts. Look how great the eevee collection boxes are doing. I would also keep an eye out for the greninja sir box coming in August. But even then they take up so much space, so it’s hard justifying buying multiple.

I agree, collection boxes are really hit or miss in the short term. Long-term the packs inside them carry them and there is a bonus for popular Pokemon as the promo. I have over 20 of the Lance's Charizard and Dark Sylveon boxes that I got for $20/piece at Walmart over the last couple of years. They sell daily on TCGPlayer for $35 (DS) and $40 (LC) daily. They have x4 Celebrations, x1 FS, and x1 ES so you really can't go wrong. Besides that and more premium boxes like the Pikachu-Zekrom GX and Eeveelutions boxes, I stay far away from them.
Yup you nailed it on the head! We all make mistakes and we just learn from them. I got some straight banger collection boxes though but a lot of garbage too lol
At least that is one mistake I didn't make. I never liked the collection boxes much, I have bought some if they have packs I am looking for, but didn't go to hard. I really don't like them at all. They create to much waste and I don't think they look good enough for display pieces.

For me, it was regular ETBs haha... I still like them as a collector and display piece, but moving forwards, it's booster boxes or bust as far as investing goes for me.

The Arceus Lunch box have a few different versions. If u have the older ones which comes with better pack selections then it should be worth more… Pokemon loves to reprint stuff and put different pack selections in them.
I got all older versions thankfully.
I think every newbie to Pokemon investing goes through the same thing where they buy a lot of bulky collection boxes when they start out and then regret it later

Booster boxes and pokemon center ETBs. I only buy collection boxes if they have amazing pack selection and really awesome promo cards, like the vaporeon, flareon, jolteon premium collection boxes

@@HenrysPokeCorner far away from pokemon center ETBs? You are crazy. You buy those things directly from the pokemon center and they are immediately worth $5-10 more. I bet you their value will be tripled a few years down the road, easy

@@HenrysPokeCorner ok, well the way that convo went, it sounded like you were saying to not invest in pokemon center ETBs. Glad we agree there. As far as regular ETBs go, I think you are wrong there in certain situations. Crown zenith comes to mind. I bought a case of crown zenith ETBs back in march for $380. That same case is now going for $550 minimum. I also bought 20 151 ETBs for $42-45 apiece and they are now go for $60 apiece. Just gotta make smart plays or hold for a long time. You can turn a profit with regular ETBs as well
