  • Join me for a few hot laps around the yard while I test a new microphone setup while getting some clutch practice in.
I can't legally take the bike out on the street until I get my permit, so I'm limiting myself to yard laps.
One of my pet peeves among moto-vloggers is terrible noise quality. Nothing will make me click away faster than overwhelming wind noise.
My focus here is trying to get some decent engine recording, as this 125cc is so whisper quiet that the GoPro barely registers it. Wind noise can ruin a video even if you're not moving and I always try to make sure I'm doing everything I can to reduce it.
When I'm eventually out on the road, my goal is to create a balance between engine noise and vlogging volume. These yard videos provide me with an opportunity to refine my editing skills as in the past I have always relied solely on the GoPro 7's inbuilt microphone, whereas now I'm introducing another audio source to synchronise to my video.
Eventually I'll work on my helmet microphone rig, which will be a new one for me and I expect it will provide a unique set of challenges for me to overcome.
I wouldn't exactly define myself as an audiophile, but I like to think that I take pride in what I upload and sound quality has always been important to me.

Just from watching you ride around in the yard you would pass the "Ohio" motorcycle test in America very easily!

I haven't got much to compare it to, but it does feel like it has a decent amount of torque, at least in first. I haven't got the space to go any faster lol

Yeah definitely looks like it's got enough low end to pop wheelies no problem! Not that it's needed of course!
