  • @rrrrrr2042

    You've pretty much cracked it in terms of grammar and such, pronunciation is understandable but could use a little tweaking, it's sounds like you have a dialect/accent when speaking. I speak an uncommon dialect which has lots of Hinglish, and roots from other languages, so my "subh" Hindi isn't that good. You might have me beat there with the vocab. I'm so jealous you speak so many languages haha :)
    Keep up the good work

    • @rrrrrr2042
      @rrrrrr2042 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's mostly the "h"s and "t"s, and "th"s that sound a bit off. Including the "bh" etc.
      I have a question for you though: I've always had an interest in learning languages, and my French teacher said I was pretty talented. I wasn't able to pick up French at a higher level because the school didn't offer it, but the point is: when I switch between Hindi and English, it's pretty much unnoticeable, do you have this when you do with your stronger languages such as Hebrew, and Arabic and whatnot?

    The reason why alot of Indians mix English with Hindi is beacuse alot of us dont know proper Hindi because we have so many languages in India. Every State has a different language and villages have different dialects. I can actually also say I am a polygot if I count all the Indian languages I speak here. :)

    Amazing fluency after 6 months work. I am an urdu native speaker I can understand Hindhi too. How did you structure your language studies for your hindhi? how many hours did you spend on watching movies and reading newspapers in Urdu? What was your typical day like? I am impressed. Good job!

    As a Hindi/Urdu speaker, I have to say that that was pretty good, though you appear to be misplacing your retroflex consonants.

    • @HiTechKeema
      @HiTechKeema 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've read that Swedish and Norwegian use retroflex consonants as well. As for Desis using them in English, it's just the way they're used to speaking, I mean, if I was to try speaking in French, I may not pronounce things properly,and a native speaker would probably be able to notice my non-French accent.

    Hi Tim. Your Hindi is good. I really appreciate and commend your passion. You should consider changing the title to टिम हिंदी बोलता है. You will say टिम हिंदी बोलतें हैं when you are referring to the concerned person with respect. Also, please note that there is a difference between बोलते है and बोलतें हैं, in pronunciation, the latter sounding from your nose. In fact, you always use हैं (and not है) when referring to a person with respect. Once again, I would like to congratulate you in pursuing such a unique passion.

    "Yaad" : yād (jaa-d)
    "Ekdam" : ek- damm (the way you say mum)
    "Dost" : d-oh-st
    I hope that helped. Continue what you're doing. Love from India! :)
