Sleaford Mods call themselves “electronic munt minimalist punk-hop rants for the working class and under from Nottingham, UK” and it’s impossible to beat that description. They're a duo made up of singer/lyricist Jason Williamson and musician/producer Andrew Fearn, and about the most distinctly English group playing Glastonbury in 2015.
They make raw, politicised music for times of austerity. In Williamson, the group have a great poet of the everyman - a cross between John Cooper Clarke, The Streets and the nutty bloke down the pub who perfectly articulates day-to-day experiences but spits in your face when he’s talking. It’s not pretty, they’re not pretty, but we don’t live in pretty times and Sleaford Mods are deserving of the bigger audience this debut Glastonbury performance provides.

Only just discovered via orbital but right now they are clearly so unbelievably currently relevant. Unbelievably fucking brilliant! So glad music like this exists. If you want to hear the absolute truth look no further.

Believe me, when I saw Sleaford Mods in Praha, October 2023, the crowd were giving it large. It’s wasted on this crowd! (I’m English)

Simple. Probably most of those Fukkers do not know what to make of Sleaford Mods because the attack goes against them and their parents. Hard to be working class when you never really had to work and just act like it 'cause you read Zizek but didn't even understand half of it. Fukk 'em!

I was lucky enough to see them just before lockdown at the Metro in Sydney where the crowd was raucous unlike this tame Glastonbury lot.
Was there for this 11 am so early for going mental check out 2017 glastonbury gig no one standing sill then
