Les Lye was phenomenal in his different roles. I loved him as the owner or cook at Barfs Burgers. I can't believe it's been 15 years since he passed. R.I.P Les.
I really wish they still had shows like this, sketch shows. I mean, YCDTOT was very politically incorrect at times, but they should still bring this idea of sketch shows back.
"Family Ties Gets Untied" was the name of the show that got preempted. I think after that it was something like "....in order that we may bring you this deeply divided program," but I'm not 100% sure. The reason I remember this....well, I was a strange kid. Before we ever got a VCR, I liked to set my cassette recorder up in front of the TV speaker and record the audio portion of TV programs, so I could at least _listen_ to it whenever I wanted. I recorded a bunch of episodes of YCDTOTV on cassette (believe it or not, I still have some of those tapes). This episode was one of them. I must've listened to it a hundred times, on my boombox, on my Walkman, etc. Like I said, I was strange. And after I read your question it came back to me out of the depths of my mind.

Guy was a legend
I remember him as Snake Eyes the bus driver...
Les was definitely underrated. I appreciate him so much more as an adult!

Awww, thank you so much -- glad to feel appreciated :)
One of my favorite TV shows as a kid. My favorite was Alasdair.
Same here. I wish they make more shows like this.
Marriage is grand. Divorce is 100 grand.
They're almost all good, but this one is GREAT!
Thank you, I agree. This one always stuck out in my mind

Agreed. Every little thing gets censored nowadays. It's absurd.

as a product of a broken home, I have to say this is pretty spot on...
Hugs to you
